Wonderful
I had a wonderful experience at The Glasshouse, Autograph Collection. I stayed for five nights during my honeymoon, and the entire experience was truly memorable.
The staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout the stay, which made a big difference. As a thoughtful gesture, they surprised us with a complimentary bottle of whiskey, which we really appreciated.
The hotel itself is very comfortable, well-maintained, and offers a relaxing atmosphere—perfect for a special occasion like a honeymoon. I genuinely enjoyed every moment of my stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and high-quality experience.

Breakfast was excellent with a full buffet AND cooked to order entree. Server was friendly and helpful with suggestions for sightseeing. Bed was very comfortable, room was huge.

Fair
The room felt a little dated, but was very spacious. The staff was very friendly. The location within Edinburgh is convenient. The tram connection form the airport right to the hotel is great.
Carpet in the bathroom, seriously?
The hotel has a very odd setup with a lobby at street level that has no facilities other than the check in desk. From there you take an elevator up to the top floor into a corridor. A significant walk along the corridor lets you reach a bar area, which most of the day felt lifeless. There is a beautiful roof deck on the same level, but the bar area is not visually connected, in fact it is windowless. There were signs for a restaurant but I never saw it. All in all it felt very disjointed and did not have the energy of a regular hotel lobby and bar setup.

Very clean and very beautiful.
I love David who helped get us, checked in and brought our luggage to the room and gave us the tour of the hotel and wonderful recommendations. What a great experience it was.
I really didn’t care for the breakfast. It wasn’t really good.

Wonderful
Staff were fantastic friendly and very helpful
The lift down to the lower level bedrooms and breakfast room was out of order and the number of stairs was daunting

Wonderful
Location and hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms are a great size, and well furnished.
Food was decent enough, but definitely not at the standard it was the year before. Also, the lift not working and all the doors of the hotel being painted at the same time just made for a bit of a messy journey to and from the rooms. Not a major issue, but definitely something to keep in mind

Good
The facade was beautiful.
Bed was very comfortable.
Pillows were great.
Breakfast & staff were lovely & friendly.
A personal card & a Birthday sweet treat for my husband.
We arrived early & two out of three rooms were ready.
The hotel was difficult to navigate as signage wasn’t great.
Not many staff around for a 5 star.
I had a ‘lovely’ room as the reception staff told me,it was nice & clean but quite corporate feeling.
Didn’t like an ‘assisted’ bathroom,I had booked the 3 rooms a while ago so this wasn’t last minute..although I did request the rooms not to be overlooked by an office block, that was something I read on a previous review.
Party on until 12midnight,very noisy, although we were updated on the day that this would be happening & an apology by letter.
Chairs in the breakfast room were all damaged with material coming of the corners..comfy seats but a little scruffy.
No kettle in the room, had to make a cup of tea with the coffee maker so the water tasted of coffee unfortunately.
Our third room wasn’t ready on arrival(we were early) the lovely staff were calling me when it was ready…this didn’t happen.

Pleasant
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel’s location is excellent — right in the center of the city
Honestly, the hotel didn’t feel like a true 5-star property as it lacked the right atmosphere. My room had a strong kitchen smell, even after I raised the issue with the staff. Additionally, the breakfast options were quite limited for Muslim guests

Very Good
Nice hotel in a good location
Being awakened with a false fire alarm that caused all of us to throw on coats and shoes and head outside.
The layout was wonky. You had to go down the stairs for breakfast and back up to get the elevator down to the ground floor. Only 1 set of elevators that we were aware of and they were VERY far away from our room. Lots of walking.

Good
The rooftop garden was lovely. If you had a room with a terrace that opened up to the rooftop, bonus points. The snug was cozy as well. The hotel location was also great.
Not all of the staff were great. The concierge Isaac was the most enjoyable part.
We booked one of the larger rooms but were not told it’s in an entirely different section of the hotel. You have to take two elevators (including a service elevator) to access it. It’s also in the basement and our room had no patio and backed onto a bar that was loud into the evening. It was not a nice experience and we ultimately asked to be moved rooms.

Wonderful
Excellent location, great staff, and comfortable rooms. Easy walking to the Scott statue and other places to visit. Also, a small mall is nearby. The mall has two pharmacies. Concierge David gave us excellent recommendations for a hop-on, hop-off bus with live English narration. He also recommended that we take a full trip around, then get off at the first place that interested us. We got off at the National Museum.
While everything in the minibar is included in your room rate, about half the minibar refrigerators, like those in about half the rooms in most hotels, need the refrigerator's doors reversed so they open the same way the door of the cabinet hiding the minibar opens. Reversing the door is about a ten minute job when you are doing dozens of them.

Wonderful
We had the Scottish breakfast this morning. It included black pudding and Haggis. The hotel is on the site of a fromer church. They saved the Facade and built the hotel behind that. It is modern. Breakfast is included if you are a guest.
The staff is excellent. David (white hair) was great.
Parking is at the Omni event center next door. You need to book it ahead of time, but you get a 50% discount if you stay at the Glasshouse. You need to provide your license plate number, so, if you rent a car, enter that number when you pickup the car. The gate reads the front plate number and opens. The entrance to the parking lot is on the left and the second or thrid place to turn in.
The hotel price is high, but it is very close to the center of town and near a shopping mall. Also, the Edinburgh Fringe was going on, so that boosted the price.
