We liked the roof terrace and the spectacular view
The room was not sound proof, it was situated close to the bar and we could hear voices, bar noise, cleaning noises, etc.
The bar staff took our order and we had to remind them 20 minutes later that we'd place the order!
We arrived early and dropped off our bags at reception, then went out to lunch, the guy at the front door took our bags (that we'd left at reception) up to our room before we checked in, this gave me the creeps that he'd been in our room with our luggage, before we had.

Location is great - staff friendly and helpful - room was perfect for my needs. Breakfast was also good with a good choice from the cold buffet.
The layout means if you have a room on the second floor you need to go up to the third and then walk through and down to the second floor - no problem for me but I can see it being an issue for some people so it should be maybe highlighted more when booking.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Ladies in breakfast room were so so lovely.
Not a dislike but the hotel is very oddly laid out, long corridors away from reception.
Bedrooms are strange, bed is literally in middle of room not really sure what it adds but not a complaint just a bit strange.

Breakfast was a disaster from start to finish so much went wrong but we made light of it.
Don't agree at all with the 5% service charge,the breakfast service was poor and god knows what was going on in the kitchen.We paid it anyway as felt Reception would think I was inventing a reason not to pay it.
Hotel pavement visibility outside incredibly poor and needs lit up at night.

Noisy toilet and aircon in room disturbed sleep and there was a party in one of the function rooms that played thumping music till midnight.

I liked the location of the property, everything was within walking distance. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The staff were just amazing,so helpful. The breakfast was excellent. It is a beautiful hotel and I would recommend it to everyone and I’ll definitely stay there again.
There were a lot of stairs to get to our room but I understand that our room was in the older section. It didn’t really bother me but some might not be able for the stairs

It was really central, we had a room onto the garden so views of Colton Hill were amazing, there was also a lovely touch acknowledging my husbands birthday
Dinner menu in bar was poor and service at breakfast was appalling, orders were forgotten as well as setting the table when we were shown to an empty table
