Elegant hotel in lovely upmarket area in Edinburgh. Deluxe double was a good size, spotless with a lovely comfortable bed. All staff were polite and very welcoming.
Tight car park at back. Not that many spaces.

The room was beautiful and had a stunning view. It had a good location and parking although that was at an extra cost.
In my room there were lots of stains on the floor including one large one near the coffee maker. It was surprising to see the carpet was in such poor condition.I had booked three rooms for two nights and my one request was to have some dairy free pastries available for breakfast. This request was acknowledged but when I went to breakfast none had been sourced. This was very disappointing. I found breakfast to be on the mean side too. Half a mushroom seemed ridiculous and just quarter of a tomato. It was things like this that really let down the hotel.

This is a period, quirky property that has its own charm. The location is perfect for accessing the sights of Edinburgh and the hotel is comfortable and welcoming.

Beautiful property and nice quiet location.
It’s old and some damage to details around the hotel. There was dust in the ceiling in our room. Our bedsheet and linen was dirty too, as if it was used..

*Payment was charged at a rate different than was reserved. It was acknowledged to be a “mistake” at the desk at checkout, but since I was rushing to the airport in the early hours of Sunday, I was told to call to get it resolved. There has been no resolution despite calls and messages through booking.com
