The room with a castle view was lovely and facilities in the room as you would expect were good
This hotel is synonymous with class and exclusivity but we just did not get that feeling. The location means it’s almost a fight to get in the front door with people exiting the station next door , which is a real shame and then inside some of the staff (check in) were just sullen and not the welcome you would expect, so despite its grandeur it did not live up to expectations sadly and was definitely not worth the money spent.

Staff was quite attentive. Nothing else
Very old property and absolutely not worth its price. Cost per night like Claridge’s in London. Spa is not functional and feels not cosy with bright lighting, we left after 15 minutes.

I enjoyed the impeccable service by the staff and also the location.
It was quite pricey because we stayed at the start of the Edinburgh festival.
