Good location and plesant room
In addition to the service charge on meals and drinks, which is standard pratice and quite acceptable, we were asked to leave a service charge for housekeeping. At over £600 per night, for the room only (we paid extra for meals), I wonder, do they not pay their staff? This is the first time I have encountered this at a luxury hotel.

This hotel is an oasis of calm in Edinburgh city centre.
The staff - all of them - are unfailingly courteous and competent and so very helpful.

Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and professional. All around extremely pleased with stay.
One slight mishap occured with housekeeping that was unacceptable. However the staff responded well and the situation was handled accordingly.

The breakfast was fantastic. The service was amazing from all aspects— cleaning, concierge, spa.
There are some close up details that could be made better. The bedding was a little tired the bathroom grout was dirty that kind of thing. The location is on a busy street with homeless people nearby. Very close to old town though.

Exceptional hotel with spa facilities and pool that have just been renovated. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The location couldn’t be any better. Right in the centre and within walkable distance from many interesting monuments, but also right next to the train station. The breakfast offered a great variety and was all fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

Everything about our stay was incredible. The location, the room, the friendliness of the staff, and the restaurant and bar were sublime. We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon, and the staff brought us a bottle of champagne and huge raspberry macarons. Concierge were very helpful, and there's nothing negative I could say about our experience.

Staff remembered my name. Breakfast was lovely and staff handed me a big box to fill the day I went to the highlands. Restaurant was great and enjoyed all.
Would stay there again if I am ever back in Edinburgh .
