The breakfast was fantastic. The service was amazing from all aspects— cleaning, concierge, spa.
There are some close up details that could be made better. The bedding was a little tired the bathroom grout was dirty that kind of thing. The location is on a busy street with homeless people nearby. Very close to old town though.

Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and professional. All around extremely pleased with stay.
One slight mishap occured with housekeeping that was unacceptable. However the staff responded well and the situation was handled accordingly.

One of the top hotels I have ever stayed!
During Christmas time, to stay at Balmoral is the best decision - the magic of Christmas everywhere! Very clean, very fashionable, very noble and very luxurious. Best experience and absolutely different perspective to Edinburgh. Thank you!

Our experience at this hotel was outstanding. The location is perfect, within easy reach of everything. The staff deliver service that is both warm and highly professional. The food is consistently excellent, and the rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and beautifully maintained. The exclusive, personalised service made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely return.

The Balmoral has a superb location right next to the train station in Edinburgh; it's an easy walk to most major attractions in Old and New Town. A superbly elegant, historic property, with gracious and friendly staff, extremely comfortable beds, and well-appointed rooms.
Room charges are very high, and there are many additional fees, including a service charge for the rooms even if you do not utilize housekeeping services. If you decide to take advantage of the amazing full or continental breakfast, they are £30 £38 pounds per person.

Myself and Lesley found the staff and service to be outstanding.Every member of staff we found to be friendly,helpful and treated us with much kindness.
We both found the meal that we had was a little disappointing for the price we paid.We are always happy and prepared to pay for a high standard of food.In this case we feel the food and price for what it was let the side down

Beautiful, historic hotel. Friendly, professional, helpful staff.
I asked for elevator access to my room, which they did have. I thought it would be obvious that I could not crawl over a high bathtub to get into the shower, but that is exactly what I was given. The entry to the bathtub was higher than my knee which made it difficult to get in and out of the bathtub. Before I came, they noted if I need a stool, they would provide it, but if I can´t climb stairs, I surely can´t safely get into such a tall bathtub. Even my 6 ft 2 inch athletic son found it difficult to get in and out of.
