Amazing breakfast, lots of nice little extras in the room
The bed was too hard for us, they did add a topper when we mentioned it so great customer service. It was still a bit too hard for us but it would suit people who like a firm bed.

You can expect clean rooms and a great location. Overall, we were satisfied with the stay.
The staff could be more helpful and cheerful. They seemed upset to see new guests checking in and were not particularly helpful when asked questions about the hotel and the stay. Maybe they were tired, but hospitality is not the best at this hotel.

I booked this hotel at the last minute, the original one having cancelled for emergency works. It wasn't in the area where I wanted to be, but turned out to be a happy find, especially since it was cheaper. There was plenty of space for a single room and everything was comfortable, well-arranged and spotlessly clean. The street outside was quiet, the bed was comfy and I slept like a log. I liked the efforts to be greener, including eco-friendly loo roll. There is an actual reception desk, rather than messing about with codes and keypads which feels unwelcoming.
The heating was full on when I arrived in late afternoon - unnecessary and wasteful and it took me some time to work out how to turn it off. It stayed off and the room remained perfectly warm.

The hotel is located at a 5 minute walk from some of the most iconic and historic places in Edinburgh's old town. The rooms were confortable and spacious and had lots of amenities that made the stay more confortable (the usual's lotions, soaps, shower caps, hair dryer, etc, but also coffee and tea and Scottish shortbread). The Hotel and the place was amazing, had a very reasonable rate, but most importantly, one of the best things about our stay was the staff. They were patient, helpful and incredibly nice and kind with us and solved all of our questions and concerns super efficiently.

The layout of the room. Plenty of sockets in the right places, good lighting and the largest walk in shower I have ever seen.. Excellent housekeeping.
Very spacious reception and lounge area and knowledgeable staff.
The dinner menu was very limited for us ....that is why i have marked it an 8...but what we had was well cooked and tasty.
