Large hotel in an excellent location for all the city centre highlights. Easy walk to castle and Royal mile. Close to Princes Street, trams and buses.
Fabulous breakfast. Spotless room. I'm house restaurant very good which we've found not to be the case elsewhere. Staff very attentive.
The ensuite bathroom is a glass enclosure that doesn't have doors that actually shut. So you get to hear and smell everything that goes on in there. We've been married 28 years but some things should not be shared. Whoever thinks these fancy glass ensuites are a good idea should be made to live with one in their own home. Madness.

The breakfast was very good, spa was ok part of It closed the whirlpool outside is good although if u stay you have to pay for the spa usually we got discount as parts of it were getting fixed the other hotels I’ve stayed in their spa facilities are included especially 5* hotels ..staff attentive we had a problem in the room and they fixed it straight away my wife had a faulty charger and it blew the room the staff couldn’t have been quicker and more attentive they sorted straight away manager and all was up in the room very impressed with that service made sure everything was safe and working again.
It is a way overpriced hotel I stay in the merchant Belfast a lot and incomparable this hotel 3* compared the difference in everything in the hotel .. for over £500 per night I expected it to be better even having the room ready early but not our anniversary gift in it for us that was paid for before arrival and then told they just hadnt got round to the list so I had to tell my wife about the missing surprise as I just thought they forgot it ..attention to details like that wife had a bath had to use the shower gel as no actual bath toiletries bed /pillows pretty bad comfort this is definitely not a 5* hotel in my rating the trip advisor 4.3/10 probably is about right I would give it 4/5

Close to stop #2 of the Hop on/off Red line bus. Have a wonderful restaurant and a pool and spa that we used. Everyone on the staff were wonderful.
Lights in room were a little difficult to operate and. It didn’t have enough light for the bathroom mirror

The location, with the onsite parking, is the key attraction here. The facilities on offer also very good. The room service meal on the first night was pretty good also.
Nothing really to dislike as such however the room rate was high but unfortunately there were very few rooms available in Edinburgh that weekend.

I remember this hotel and spa opening in the 1990s and had always wanted to stay. I booked 2 nights and was super excited. At check in I was upgraded to a castle view room which was nice. The room was warm. The decor tidy and robes and slippers provided. The exec-room was good with free generous drinks and snacks.
I was advised at check in that elements of the spa were not working. A reduced fee of £35 (£70 normally) was payable to use the remaining functioning facilities. This seems penny pinching as this is not a cheap stay. Only the pool is free for hotel guests. Despite setting the AC to 18 and top fan speed the room was uncomfortable. The duvet is very thick so a good nights sleep is impossible. You can't sleep with the windows open due to late night revellers. I reported the issue but I assume the system has been turned off to save energy. On check out my £35 spa charge was refunded. This was a kind gesture and appreciated but I would rather have working AC.
