Central location, accommodation was perfectly adequate for our short stay. Staff were great, buffet breakfast varied and plentiful - but perhaps the most unexpected aspect was the hybrid hotel/hostel. Lots of younger people and European travellers, a bar and social area that had entertainment but bedrooms far enough away that we had no issues with noise. It had a great vibe and it made me feel young again - thank you

Excellent location, very close to The Royal Mile. Clean room & bathroom. Bar, pool table & electronic darts were great!
Had to make up our own beds, not ideal when arriving late in the night. Beer garden downstairs quite noisy - but it was Saturday night so that was expected.

The location is amazing
Someone must have got sick in the reception area and it was not ceaned properly so you could smell it for the 2 days we were there and that smell wasnt there wen we arrived

The staff were amazingly accommodating, I never got to choose if I could be top or bottom bunk, across the top is a bar with a small gap to climb into bed and I couldn't comfortably get in, plus people kept shushing me despite doing my best to be quiet but everything kept creaking but the wonderful lady on the desk refused to let me stay up all night not sleeping and did her best to get me a new bed with a bottom bunk and im eternally grateful. The locations great, clean and a fun spot.
Its pretty noisy at night due to the pub right below us, i didn't really know that'd be an issue. The bar on the top bunks so low you struggle to get in comfortably.
The £10 breakfast sadly wasn't worth it, i got there at 8am and there wasn't much selection. Hot food wise there was only boiled eggs, vegan sausages and beans.. thats it.
And when I went to put salt on my food the top completely broke off pouring salt all over my food..
No one was checking if people checked in for breakfast or paid either so everyone was grabbing food.

Great location and room, toilets all very clean. Good bar on site with pool table, darts and football on TV made it great to relax.
The joys of a hostel in a room with 9 other people is the other people treating it like they have the room to themselves; turning the lights on when they come in whilst others are trying to sleep or coming in at 01:30 in the morning and just chatting away to each other. This is a people problem and nothing to do with the hostel.
