Lovely staff.
It was so dirty. There were splatters of something I hope is coffee next to one of the beds and a BLOOD SPLATTER in the shower wall, which came off when we threw water at it so it clearly was not cleaned the slightest.

Location to Edinburgh Waverly Station. Yes, it was very expensive to what is normally charged, but the staff we spoke to were great, and the room was basic but clean. I would probably stay here again.

It is very well located, just a few blocks away of the Royal Mile.
We had issues with the room and Ally, at reception, was very nice and did his best effort to accommodate us in a new room. He was the best, and really made a difference to us being able to sleep in a different room, being that it was a very crowded weekend in Edinburgh.
The bar downstairs seemed cool, but we didn't go because it was very crowded and noisy.
It was super expensive (€750 2 nights for 3 people) for the facilities it offered. It was a crowded weekend (Edinburgh festival and Oasis concert) and so we thought it was "acceptable", but the rooms were extremely noisy with the bar downstairs and you could hear everything from the next room.
The bathroom was terrible. Very small, smelly and uncomfortable. The shower did not even have a curtain separating it from the toilet. Imposible to use the bathroom after someone had a shower.
The beds were not the worst, but weren't good either.
The rooms are not comfortable or good enough for the price.

I liked the cleanliness, the bar and multiple toilets and showers in the room. It’s right in the city old town and the pub which is right near the dorm room ~ I enjoyed the drink and night there…. Wish I had my all two days in this hostel
I didn’t like the smell in the room which I think was not sufficiently ventilated. Hope they get cross ventilator

Central location, friendly and helpful staff, clean room, linen and lovely towels. Good downstairs bar area.
The room was above the bar ( although floor 11) and it was very noisy until very late. The room was quite hot but the fan provided was great.

Location of property was good and the bathrooms were very clean and nice. The pub downstairs had a nice social vibe and offers a fun pub crawl.
Was the only female in a 10 bed mixed dorm so would have appreciated if they tried to split the rooms up a little bit

The key card for the room was not working properly, I could not open the door. I had to go downstairs to the reception to fix it.

The room was pricey compared to the quality. The facility was poor. At the time I entered the room, the room was full of body odor. Have asked the staff to change the room but was refused. The staff kindly provided room spray but it didn’t help that much. Ended up staying with body odor for the whole night which was a nightmare to us. The room was not so cleaned. Well aware that this is 1 star hotel but didn’t expect this to be this poor. Have stayed in other A&O and this place was way under its standard.

wonderful stay and lovely friendly staff. rooms and bathrooms super clean, and location was amazing of the hostel.
the only thing that i didn't like that there's no electric socket attached with the beds. also, the price of this hostel was super expensive
