Excellent location in a quiet and modern area, just a 10-minute walk from the city centre. Spacious room and friendly staff made the stay very comfortable.
Breakfast was good, but the selection was the same each morning — a bit more variety would be great.

Good location (10 minute walk from Royal Mile), quiet neighborhood between buildings of university. Room was basic, maybe slightly dated, but contained everything we needed. Friendly staff.

No lock on bathroom door and shower head wasn't adjustable, head was fixed at a straight up and down angle so everything got really wet

Our stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott was comfortable and clean. The rooms were a little dated but kept up well. I enjoyed the location next to the University of Edinburgh and was within a mile walking distance to the old town. I liked that there was a little grocery store frequented by the students and locals within a 75 yards of the hotel entrance. I enjoyed the selections for breakfast and the staff were generous with the supplies like hot coco and teas which we like to have in our room. I would definitely recommend this location for those staying in Edinburgh.
The room was a little smaller than expected but still served our needs. The room did not have a refrigerator.

Mehwith ,who was the Reception staff was amazing . She was very friendly. She was able to to get my daughter and I into our room early. After a 9 hour flight, this was so much appreciated! Bed was comfortable and shower was great. We noticed the signage that indicated the best time to go down to have breakfast. Breakfast was included and it was very good.

Location, being not too big, size of the room, good staff, hospitality.
Coffee was not good, coffee prepared instantly grounded beans might be used. The lighting of the bathroom and lavatory should be separate, it would be more comfortable in that way.

Breakfast was great. Self-serve laundry service very handy. Very quite considering it's in the middle of Edinburgh; not on a busy street.
