The reception team was uncooperative when I requested to late check-out, despite the fact that my stay had already been unpleasant. The fire alarm went off at 4 a.m., creating a chaotic and distressing situation, and not a single apology was offered to guests considering that it was false alarm.

Nothing. Only I forgot my coat in the cabinet after checking out. Then came back to the hotel and asked if they found my coat, but it was nowhere to be found.

The bed was so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep at all, came as quite a shock. It was solid, definitely not a bed to snuggle into. The food available was very average but better available nearby.

Disappointing
Being in the Centre of Edinburgh was very nice. There were taxis outside almost always which was very handy and a tour bus stops nearby. The staff were lovely. The room was mostly quiet. The bed was comfy and large.
The premier room upgrade that cost nearly £1000 more just for the upgrade was just a larger room with the bed at one side, seats down a side and a very small bathroom all with blackout blinds. I booked a room with a view. It was of the houses and shops across the street. I have been in better rooms at the Premier Inn for a 5th of the cost. Some families with noisy, very very noisy children were near us, an elderly couple celebrating our wedding anniversary by going to see the gardens. Breakfast was very poor.I I complained that the mushrooms were swimming in their liquid with a normal spoon to serve them and the egg whites were not cooked so the next day everything was dry and overcooked with no flavour as the sausages and eggs were overdone, mushrooms were bone dry and they put a perforated spoon for the mushrooms which was not now needed. All they needed to do was cook the eggs and use the right spoon for the mushrooms. There were no hot tomatoes. None ever. Bacon was ok. There seemed to be a nice continental breakfast but the bread was dry. What i hated and why i don't want to go back is the way that all the staff clear the table before you have left. Yes! Ask the customer if they want a dirty plate taking away but give them another knife for buttering toast and putting marmalade on.
My husband went alone for breakfast on our last day and he got a full glass of the very nice pure orange and a full cup of his black tea. Then he went back to get the bacon and eggs and while he was away a minute they cleared away his orange juice and his tea. Full cups!!! What a waste!! .Also the dinner staff who were lovely were limited to a small choice of dinner options. I normally eat dinner at the hotel. There was nothing I really liked. I did try one option but we both didn't like it so no more hotel dinners for us. The restaurant was almost empty. Someone vaped or smoked in their room and we ALL had to go outside in the rain and the cold at 1 am. .
