We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but the location was excellent. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient.
The cleanliness in our room - especially bathroom was not good and the carpet not vacuumed . We were there for 7 nights and our bedsheets were never changed - the pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable - the bed laid badly.

room was great and staff were excellent & super friendly and helpful to assist.
the hotel restaurant was limited with food, wine and staff were under pressure as limited numbers to cater for guests. No late night room service had to order a very expensive uber eats.

Location was great. Spa facilities were good.
Temperature of the room was cold, the thermostat was not working correctly and they had a kept a small electric heater in the room which was odd. Also the bed mattress had no firmness - left us with terrible back pain!
Poor communication amongst the staff as I requested a late checkout, initially told not possible but then when I reminded them of my premium membership, suddenly late checkout it was available? Then around 12pm someone came to my door asking why I hadn’t checked out yet. Apparently they were not told or there were no notes left to say I had an approved late checkout. When paying £700+ for 2 nights, I would expect the basics to be correct

Breakfast was excellent and the staff in reception were lovely. Perfect position in Edinburgh close to everything. We didn’t use the pool facilities but looked lovely and surprisingly quiet for this time of year. Can’t wait to return.

Staff were attentive and polite, bar area was comfy and well decorated for Christmas.
Our first rooms bathroom stunk of stale urine to the point I had to shut the door and open the window, I called reception who did move me super fast which I was greatful for, however the next morning, I woke up to the room and hallway smelling of a musty, dog food smell, the bathrooms were both not in the best condition around the bath and shower area and I was really disappointed as a whole when we paid £200 a night…
