The location is fine in terms of tourist visiting (and probably for business trips, too). There's a decent breakfast place across the way and a nice restaurant at the corner. The space is big enough -- rather corporate and sterile, but clean and spacious. I really wanted a washing machine, and we got one.
It felt very blah. For one thing, we were put way downstairs, on the floor where the staff work. It felt weird, even a little spooky. Even worse, the windows backed onto Waverley Station. Since it was warm and we needed to keep the windows cracked, it was VERY noisy with train announcements. The decor is sterile (okay but not welcoming), but there weren't a lot of lamps.

The young person at the check in desk was friendly and informative. They had beautiful auburn hair and a cherry personality! The hotel could use some updating but it was a nice stay in a good location. We were happy and would stay again. Thank you from California!!
Extra towels and maybe a vending machine for snacks or drinks when the café was closed. Not a big deal though.

Great location, walking distance to all the sites and lots of restaurants and shopping. Great staff, Miguel at the front desk was friendly and helpful and made a superb cappuccino. Ruta on the facilities Staff was friendly, responsive and quick to respond. The place was huge, very comfortable and super mattresses and so clean!

The location was excellent. The apartment was very spacious. It was lovely.
Honestly it was all lovely. It was very hot when we were there and of course there was no A/C which was not expected. We are from California so we are used to A/C. Not something I would ever worry about while in the UK normally. Windows were great to open. It was a really lovely apartment and lovely building. The staff were very nice.

Edinburgh is very expensive and crowded in August. Princess Street Suites is a fair value given how high prices are everywhere in the country. The UK's 20% VAT with the additional Edinburgh 5% tax really pushes prices up that much more. Location was good. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Waverly train station is right next door and a bus stop is a few doors down. The airport bus drop off and pick up are an easy 2-3 blocks away from the hotel.
Full bed was too small. Accommodations were a bit basic. We were 2 floors below reception/street level so many that made if feel a bit darker.

Location is astonishing. Right in the midst of everything. All major tourist sites are within walking distance, except for elderly walking-impaired people, in which case the front desk is extremely helpful in calling for a cab for you.
In the corner of the living room, and in the small bedroom, you can hear the low hum of announcements from the train station. Very, very minimum - really not a problem.

We used this suite as a headquarters for a group gathering in Edinburgh. It worked perfectly for this. We had discussions in the main living area, including presentations on the big screen TV. Shared coffee/tea and lunches too. Highly recommended.

Would have liked doorstops for the heavy bedroom doors for during the day and the bedrooms need mirrors.

The location was perfect for us to do the bus tours. The rooms were good size and the living room was a very nice big space to gather after a long day. We really appreciated the washer/dryer also.
The noise from Waverley Station was a little much at night.
