The breakfast was good. Our room was very comfortable. However the windows needed cleaning outside.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Conveniently situated.
The creaking and uneven floor boards. However I realise it's like that.

1- there is a long stairs to reception so you will struggle with your luggage.
2- room furniture and carpet very very old.
3- bathroom also is very old need to renew.
4- bed was uncomfortable no AC you have to open the window on an early morning. They took garbage very noisy from the street.

We picked this hotel because we were looking for something close to the train station. And indeed, it is close to the train station.
The basis of an hotel room is the bed. And the bed in the room we got was not good at al. It was way too narrow to be called a double bed. Don’t let the images fool you., they’re taken with a special lens. For this price we expected at least a decent bed.
Also, the windows didn’t close properly. Outside noise could be heard as if the window was open.

Staff was very friendly.
We had a room to the back. As the Hotel is on princess street this was a bonus. So no great view but silent nights with open windows. Worth it.
The pillow was for my taste rather hard and when I asked for a softer I learned I already got the soft version.

The location is perfect, The room was big, AC was working well, the bar is very nice. Overall is a nice old hotel.
No elevator from ground floor to lobby,
There was no WIFI in the room. Staff said they can’t do anything about it. Had to order drinks at the bar to use WiFi.

the location was perfect for us, close to bus station for day trips and close to the Royal Mile and Old Town. The Scott Monument was a great landmark to find our way back to the hotel.
The stairs going into the hotel, but I knew that when booking. The A/C unit was noisey, but we dealt with it.

Great location. City center. Walkable and close to bus stops.
Didn't expect stairs going into the hotel and back down (within the room). This was not well described on the website. Not a good location if accessibility considerations. Otherwise room was very nice and great value.

Leaving
Possibly the most dissapointing hotel I stayed in this decade. Perhaps a nice hotel if you have never been to a hotel before. The rooms are overheated and without AC opening a window is the only option. But the drunk punters roaming the street make sleeping impossible. This place needs more than a lick of paint. Internet is weak. I could go on. But I think you know what to do, browse on and book somewhere else.
