Location is excellent, staff were pleasant. Great view of the Old Town at breakfast. Appreciated fresh fruit and good breakfast tea. Decor quite old-fashioned but everything was clean.
I was staying at the front of the hotel, looking directly onto Princes Street; the windows rattled as the trams went by and in general the traffic noise didn't make it easy to get to or stay asleep. Though it was quiet in the early hours of the morning.

The location is spectacular. You’re in the middle of the town. Housekeeping was amazing too (thanks to the blonde lady!)
There was no elevator to the reception it was hard to carry our baggage

Disappointing
Location was good, next to the train station. Staff were pleasant enough and facilities were fine.
My low score is really down to how noisy the room was and I am exhausted having had very little sleep for the 2 nights I stayed. The windows seemed to have zero sound proofing so I could hear lots of noise from the street most of the night... and very early mornings. General city noise and bottle bins being emptied etc...
No one asked me for feedback at check out but I did share my views proactively and explained that as I was only staying 2 nights I didn’t get time to discuss changing rooms after the first night (I assume they'd be the same anyway but can't comment).
In addition to this, I do think what I paid was quite steep for 2 nights, midweek for my 5 year old daughter and I.

Great position a short walk from the rail station easy to reach tourist spots
I'm only 5ft tall the sink in the bathroom was quite high and the shower was over the bath, getting out was difficult as the side was quite high

The beautiful dining room and comfortable lounge with window views of the park led us to choose to stay and eat there several times rather than search out other options.
The shower was very hard to figure out and therefore a wild temperature experience. The tub was great, however the very intense overhead light gave the impression of being on an operating table. Not as relaxing as I'd hoped.

Everyone says location and they’re right, but it’s also a nice hotel. I’m a typical stocky American and it was great. Staff is brilliant. Stayed there 4 nights of my 7 in Scotland and will be back. Hotel employees at the Front Desk will tremendous
There were some comments on water pressure: I stayed in two rooms and they were both fine.
