Location location location perfect
Lift was out of order on arrival . Walked up the stairs to the 6th floor with my luggage sweating buckets . When I got there the door wasn’t operating as it should have been using the key card . Walked all the way back to get it reactivated by reception staff.

Only 1 elevator available which is small. We had to wait and sometime squeeze with other guests to get in.

View from our room was lovely!
There was no lift from main entrance to reservation desk, had to drag our luggage up two flights of stairs, the lift from main floor to room was tiny, noisy room, and a piece of my personal lace undergarment disappeared and never resurfaced, STRANGE!.

Right on Princess Street one block from the Royal Mile. Easy access to everything, a beautiful ancient hotel. Delightful staff, wonderful meals in the tastefully decorated dining room. Scenic view from the coffee shop lounge.

To get to the reception desk, (where the lift was available), you need to take the stairs, and if you have bags, it can be difficult. The bathroom has a bath tub, which can be dangerous, with risk of fall. It is better to replace with shower. No fridge or safe in the room, can be noisy during day time.
