Great location. You can see the Scott Monument & Edinburgh Castle from the Restaurant.
A couple of ordinary encounters with staff left a bad taste. Not all encounters were bad, but unfortunately it’s the bad ones you remember. Not much information given on arrival.

Clean, friendly, great location..stayed at the old Waverley hotel for our honeymoon four years ago, what was really nice was we got the same room again
Even though the view at the front is amazing, it's a little noisy..

All staff were friendly and helpful. The bar area was comfy
Bedroom was extremely small. We booked a double room but there was barely room to walk down the side of the bed. The bed itself felt like a large single bed rather than double. Breakfast was a little overpriced given that there was such a wide variety of options for way better value so close.

The hotel is steps away from Waverly Station. The staff were very helpful. Our room had a perfect view of the Royal Park. Enjoyed watching people in the Park. Really appreciated the staff suggesting an early cold breakfast delivered to our room because we had to check out before breakfast started.
Being on a major street means that busses and street cars passed under our window all night. Bring ear plugs. The room was attractive but tiny -- like a room in NYC. Just enough room for the beds.

The bed was comfortable after a long day trip, and the bathroom was clean with great water pressure and hot water. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was friendly.
The room was quite small, with a thick carpet that was relatively clean. However, there was no toilet brush, which was an unusual experience. I understand that people can be creative with how they use facilities these days, but some of us would appreciate having a stay where we can be treated humanely and not feel that the facilities are being degraded.

Very helpful staff, clean and central location.
There is no lift, up to reception, so you must take the luggage up about 20 steps, although there is a porter service. From reception to the upper floor there is a lift. Also, since I'm used to a large double bed, the one we had was a bit narrow., otherwise comfortable.
