Perfect location opposite Waverley Station for my onward travel plans
My room did not have a window!!! Not a chink of light at any time of day. The lack of natural air was awful, the aircon making it so dry that I woke several times in the night. Very uncomfortable!

Charming interieur, comfortable beds, clean and nice bathroom; charming hotel with lovely breakfast and tea saloon with great view to Sir Walter Scott Monument opposite, and lovely side view to Edinburgh Castle in the distance.; Absolutely delicious breakfast ! Very kind and helpful staff, especially helpful regarding my desastrous late, extremely delayed luggage delivery ( in fact on the night before my leaving).
(Delayed luggage delivery at hotel by e - courier systeme. But had nothing to do with Hotel or staff.)

Staff friendly and polite especially cleaning staff. Room was cleaned despite only staying two nights.
Can't rate food as didnt eat there. Felt room was poor for money (Frosted Window no view or natural sunlight) got option to upgrade but by then too late to look for something else and felt too expensive to upgrade to standard room which still didnt include breakfast. I believe we could have had better room with similar location for same money so disappointing

Old very cute hotel with the best position. A few minutes walking to everything to visit in Edinburgh. Position and view from the breakfast room are amazing and I also liked the decoration inside and the vintage atmosphere. Staff was also friendly and helpful.
For the price I paid I though the room was going to be a bit bigger and with a better view and a bit more new (I loved the vintage atmosphere but some things could be more taken care of and renewed).
