The triple room was very spacious with very comfortable beds. We were informed upon our arrival that updates and renovations had been done. As this was my 3rd stay at the hotel since 2018, I was extremely pleased with the updates, especially with the bathroom facilities. I've always chosen the Old Waverley Hotel during my visits to Edinburgh due to the fantastic location to the Old Town and the Royal Mile.
Being Canadian, I had lots of adapters to use but the position of the double bed had no outlets within reach.
That was the only concern we had with our stay at the hotel.

Intrance doesn't not have lift for luggage, breakfast not many options, beds not comfortable. Baby cot very low.

Location and the hotel in general were very much ok.
We expected a breakfast with some more choice of bread and more, and it was bad that the lift did not work most of the time. We were on the 6th floor, so quite a climb each time we had to go up.

Very classic hotel with good location. It was not in my plan to stay at the property but it’s due to my cancelled booking at close by hotel with no solid reason!
Although I have booked the room at last minute (may be its weekend almost fully booked) but unfortunately there was No refrigerator No A/C. Luckily the fan we have it the second night it was a big help.

Room was clean and functional. Bathroom very good decent ventilation.TV Kettle etc fine.
Couldn’t open a window, no air. Poor view of a building site next door expected more for the price I paid.
My room was on the 4th floor and the lift was out of order for most of my stay. I am a fairly fit 75yr old but climbing 15 flights of stairs - twice on the first day, four times on the second, and twice on the checkout day - was not my idea of a relaxing couple of days in a nice hotel.

The room was smaller than expected with a smaller window which we had to use a water bottle to keep open for air as the room was quite warm and stuffy. One side of the mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable, could do with replacing. It was clean and the staff were very helpful which was good. It is a prime location which was excellent.
The photographs were suggestive of a larger room, which we expected, however as we were only there for 3nights it was adequate. The room was very hot/stuffy so we left the window open however there is a lot of outside noise very early morning which woke us up. The lift broke down and was out of order for 2days which was very inconvenient especially as we were on the fifth floor and are senior citizens.

We had a fantastic view of the Scott Monument, the location was excellent. We didn’t have breakfast. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows and all the linen and towels were good quality.The room was a reasonable size. Some of the staff on reception were lovely and very helpful, but a couple just ignored me and served people who had come in after me…
I hadn’t realised when we booked that there were shops beneath it and the entrance was between two. They don’t have double glazing so you can hear the traffic and the trains. There was also work going on, which we weren’t informed about and the lift was out of order for one day. They were a bit stingy on the sugar and milk in the room, but were happy to give more when asked for it. I think it was a bit overpriced for what we had
