Staff at the reception were so helpful and
we were so grateful that we were offered the upgraded room with the view to the iconic Edinburgh castle. ☺️
The location was also so convenient and easy to get by places on foot.

Cleaners binned a very expensive glass of whisky which was on the side (saved for later). Fella was gutted!

Location of hotel is good
Room layout. Toilet is in a small room next to the front door, no sink to wash hands. Bathroom with shower and sink is at the other side of the room, around a corner. Very unhygienic to use
the toilet, open the door, then walk to a completely separate room to wash your hands. Is the toilet door handle cleaned between stays?
All this after the hotel messed up the anniversary arrangements I had made. They had been confirmed via email, but had not been done (simple bottle of Prosecco in the room). The first excuse was that a message was supposed to be sent to me but hadn't been. Then the second member of staff I spoke to gave the excuse was it was a new member of staff who had made a mistake. Funnily, the confirmation email I recieved was from the reception team leader. I can't help feeling lied to, to cover up a mistake. Very poor start to the stay. Soured the hotel experience.
