Absolutely perfect location, very close to attractions and walking paths and shops and restaurants.
The room was excessively warm and the window could only be opened slightly. Very poor air circulation. Also, the room I booked was not the room that we received. Booked a double bed with pull out sofa. Got only a double bed. One adult slept on the floor.

Most things were great. Nice bar and live music. Great Pool & nice gym facilities
Unfortunately our stay was let down by the condition of the room. The bathroom hadnt been cleaned & there was someones hair and used tissue and towels on the floor and the bin hadnt been emptied. We checked in quite late so when raising this with the reception staff the next day they didnt seem too concerned and offered us a free drink as a form of apology. Although the staff were very nice & helpful we didnt feel this was a satisfactory resolution to this issue. For the type of hotel & cost you dont expect to have this sort of issue. The lack of action and feedback to how this happened and how they would remedy it wasnt entirely great either.

Great location, short walk to Grassmarket and Royal Mile, but far enough away not to be affected by the crowds.
Room was clean, tidy and comfortable.
On site bar and restaurant was reasonable.
High occupancy due to several bus tours caused food service to be often under pressure and seating could be scarce.
