We had a great stay. Location was perfect for the Royal mile, castle and zoo. Room was spotlessly clean. My children loved the pool. Breakfast was brilliant, they loved the waffle maker, so much choice. Evening dinner, food was the nicest I've had in a long time. I had the salmon and it was piping hot, salmon was huge. Every member of staff went above and beyond. So friendly and caring Would definitely stay again. Thank you Novotel!

The restaurant food was good
The pool was very small and the changing room was not adequate enough.there was 7 boys and men changing at the one time with no privacy and the only bench to put your clothes on was about 1 meter long.cabt believe it's a 4 star hotel

I thought the family room was a really good size for a family of 4. The bar was nice although a bit small. And the location was great, walking distance to the start of princess street and bang on Lothian road.
I didn't like that the toilet and a wash basin were not in the same room. I don't know if the TV was broken but we couldn't turn off Audio description, and the temperature cool down we had to open the window. I also think that the access to the pool could be improved rather than a first come first served basis, potentially allow people to book a slot as our 2 boys were disappointed that they couldn't go and we didn't have time to wait (45 minutes) to be told there was enough room.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room, room as described. Pool was the main reason we booked as staying with a child. Breakfast was good, great selection something for all.
Check in was transactional, quite cold, team enquired if we would be having breakfast then attempted to charge but was included with booking , no information given about the room card needed to access lifts or directions to room. Not made aware that you have to be put on a waiting list for pool. Stay was good for the night and fitted our needs but more information given at check in would have been helpful to get the most out of the stay.

Quite comfortable location
Late cleaning, not all complementaries were refilled. Not very friendly staff. Lack of basic foods in the bar downstairs - looks like a cafe, has coffee but nothing with it. Mostly a bar, but full of kids during the day.
