Location was great. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Very expensive for what it was. You are basically paying for location. My room was at the top floor (attic) without elevator (and no airconditioning - but I did not need that). Otherwise, nice room but not for this amount of money.

Wonderful
Loved the location, very quiet, comfortable room, good TV channels and facilities, clean, friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant area. There are so many amazing cafes, bakeries, shops, and restaurants in Stockbridge a few minutes walk away from the hotel. The room was very well equipped with everything you could need!
Maybe a bit dated in the communal areas and bathroom and could do with a refresh but it was all very clean!

Fantastic location, beautiful historic building, great view from room. Enjoyed dinner in Blackwoods restaurant.
Lack of attention to detail. TV didn’t work and despite reporting it was not resolved. Teas and coffees were not replenished. Cramped bathroom and shower.

The location, on the edge of Stockbridge and a short walk from Dean Village and Princes Street, was good. The shower in the bathroom was interesting. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, others not.
No real reception area, didn’t get a feel of a small luxury hotel as didn’t get to see any of the high ceilings room. We had a basement room and the carpet on the stairs was well worn. Room was okay. Water not replaced and biscuits were crushed.

The staff were great and the location was a 15-20 minute walk through a nice neighborhood to many of the main tourist attractions.
We got put in a lower class room the first night but the hotel was excellent about fixing the situation for the remaining nights and compensating us for the first night.

Fantastic staff made our stay - very friendly people and baby friendly place! Our suite was beautiful and on the lowest floor so it had garden access which was gorgeous. The facilities were fantastic in the room too! The location is also brilliant for getting around and a short bus or car journey to the big hits such as the zoo. We ate in the restaurant for dinner with our small child and they couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating, the staff really made our stay special!
Nothing wrong with our stay at all but worth mentioning for others that there is no lift and multiple stories to the beautiful historical building.

Beautiful building in a superb location. Staff were all excellent including the restaurant
A few issues with the room that couldn’t be resolved as maintenance staff weren’t there. Plug sockets by the bed didn’t work, the knob on the shower would fall off, fan extremely noisy and windows weren’t easy to open so it was very warm. Limited menu and the steak ran out which left it really really limited
