I liked the hotel. The room was spacious
and it was close to a bus station.

Room was dirty with stained carpet throughout and en suite had a badly chipped sink and mould around shower base. Furniture was badly worn and stool was broken.
No air conditioning and fan in room noisy and not powerful

I like the restaurant at the hotel. The trout dish and the tomato soup were both excellent. The breakfast, especially the avocado toast, was perfect. The chef obviously put a lot of thought into the pairing of ingredients as well as the presentation of the food. If I were to come back to visit Edinburgh again, I would definitely visit the lovely restaurant at the hotel again.
The staff at the check-in was not helpful. It might be because she was new or an intern, because she didn’t know where my room is, and I had to figure it out myself. I also couldn’t get any help with the luggage despite that I asked for help. The service was falling below the bar given the four star rating. The check-in was essentially giving you a key and a letter, then good luck finding your own way out. I am a returning guest, and the service was decent the first time I visited.

Overall the property, public areas and room. I also was impressed that at least one of the restaurant staff members is a person with disability. The breakfast was very good.

The Family room was spacious
The staff was extremely unhelpful. There were no elevators and I had to take my luggage up to the 3rd level by stairs without any help from the hotel staff. The bathroom was not good at all. The windows didn't open properly.

I had the best night's sleep I've had in a long time in the really comfortable bed! The Caramel Wafers were a special treat too!
I didn't like the lack of a lock on the bathroom door and the fact that the door was opaque glass and didn't fully seal.

Room was fine, breakfast was good, and the bed was comfortable enough. The hotel is in a handy location for buses to all parts of the city, and of course for Murrayfield Stadium!!
There wasn't anything I considered to be unacceptable, except the room lights could have been a little brighter.

Location was good
There were many stairs and we had to carry our own suitcases up to the top floor. There was no staff to help with it.
One of our rooms only had cold water, so they had cold showers!
The other room, the water ran super hot and you couldn’t adjust the temperature down! When I told the staff they just said you have to try and run the water in the tap for a while first and then turn on the shower….well how on earth would anyone know about that?
Staff were also hard to find around the hotel and mostly unhappy in their demeanour….it was a very sad experience because the hotel itself had a lovely charm to it….
