Poor
We chose this hotel due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews, but we truly regret it. Starting with the positive sides, there's free Wi-Fi, and the hotel is about 3 km from the city center, which is roughly a half-hour walk. For those who enjoy walking like us, this might not be an issue. It's also accessible from the airport in about 20 minutes. The room itself isn't small and has a high ceiling.
I rarely write hotel reviews, but I have to for this one. I need to list the negatives point by point, not because I believe the hotel will fix or improve itself, but so that people can make an informed choice, aware of these shortcomings. * The furniture in the hotel is very old. The bed, the floorboards, and the wardrobe in the room constantly creak. If someone walks past your room or takes a step in the rooms upstairs, it feels like they are inside your room. * If you have any expectation of hygiene and cleanliness, I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. When we arrived, the glasses and spoons in the room were dirty. The room service is terrible. Towels aren't changed; instead, visibly dirty towels are folded and put back. Room service only empties the trash. * There is no door in the bathroom. No kidding, there really isn't one. A glass panel with 'bathroom' written on it, resembling a door, has been installed, but it doesn't close completely. * There's no toilet brush in the toilet. We requested one from reception, and they said they aren't used in the hotel. For some people sensitive about cleanliness, this situation is very unpleasant. * The carpets in the room are so dusty and dirty that the bottoms of the slippers provided, which we only wore indoors, turned yellow in two days. When one of the slippers tore, we asked for new ones, but they told us we were only entitled to one slipper and couldn't provide more. * Hot water runs out after a certain hour in the evening. Because of this, you need to quickly return to your room and use it before the hot water is depleted. Not knowing about this disaster, the water cut out while my head was full of shampoo. When I called reception, they said they could send a technician the next day. Just as other guests mentioned in their reviews, “very polite and helpful staff!”

Murrayfield was a great hotel – spacious, with good accommodations and a nice bathroom. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, combining traditional Scottish architecture with nature through atrium gardens and plenty of natural light. Since we were honeymooning, they surprised us with a delicious bottle of Prosecco, which we really enjoyed. The staff was definitely a highlight – very helpful and charismatic, making our stay even more pleasant. It was also very convenient to have a restaurant available on-site, which made both the dinner and breakfast experience very enjoyable.
We did have to park on the street. Although this was an exceptional situation and the hotel informed us in advance, it still added a bit of stress and made the experience slightly less relaxing. We also encountered a - theoretically - dangerous spider in our room (on the wall next to the bed), which my husband killed and everything was fine NBD, but it would be helpful if the hotel considered implementing some form of insect inspection, especially in the guest rooms.

Some of the staff tried very hard to make the stay great. Check-in receptionist was lovely.
Wife got food poisoning from dinner (room service). Kitchen initially missed one entire meal off our order. Receptionist at checkout couldn't be bothered to listen to my daughter(autism ) talk to her about the stay and how excited she was.

The location and the room.
No place for residents the hotel was catering for an event near by. We felt that we were just forgotten about, couldn’t get a table or order food.

Disappointing
Location
No car parking as stated on website and phone call due to marquee up for function. No air con in room so boiling hot. No opening window only a door which opens up into a beer garden. So no privacy . Very hard to get served / refused drinks due to private function and concert nearby.

The room was clean
Staff were very rude and very unwelcoming. The person on the door requires customer service training. The person behind the bar, was the most unfriendly and un welcoming ever. She even closed the bar early when there were still customers in there. There room was only half decorated.
