Location was superb--couldn't ask for better. Central to everything and great views from our room.
The AC is on all the time and very dry. I woke each day with sinus pressure from how dry the air was, and there was a vague chemical smell--like industrial glue--in the room. I also didn't like having to leave the key in a slot at all times to have electricity in the room, and this is not self explanatory. There were a few things about how the room works that they should explain more clearly in writing in the room. That was one, the other was that the hair dryer only works in the room not bathroom. It's not a huge deal, but it is less convenient.

Very convenient location to bus and train, easily walkable to sights.
It’s a very large hotel, so the rooms are minimal. Wasn’t real coffee in the room though they offer it with breakfast for a fee.

Fabulous location so close to city centre and easy walking access to most of the tourist attractions or transport!
Staff were kind and helpful
We received a stained towel. We asked for fresh towels and were given them immediately which we appreciated.
The next day after that however one of our towels had a hole in it.
Everything else bar this was lovely and the facilities were beautifully clean. It might just be worth checking the towels in stock/use currently

We really loved Edinburgh, and the location of this hotel was fantastic. Just walked out of the hotel and up Cockburn Street to the Royal Mile. Also, directly across from Waverley Station and we found that Airport Shuttle bus departed from bridge crossing Waverley Station, which was perfect for when we checked-out of hotel. Rooms were a good size and really nicely decorated (in traditional Scottish style). We did not have breakfast at hotel, as there were so many options to eat within New Town and Old Town and within walking distance.
Ensuites a little small. Challenging when arriving and being dropped off by taxi or car, due to position of hotel being on a corner where there is a roundabout, everything else very convenient.
