The staff were all lovely, kind & friendly especially the tall, dark haired guy who did breakfast on 27th March 26. He was so kind, helpful & considerate. The atmosphere of the hotel was calming, the cleanliness was great, toilets in foyer were spotless and the shower in the bedroom was fantastic and the location was spot on. The room was on 1st floor & there are 2 lifts. For a base the size is adequate, bigger than I expected & in a peaceful position. A set of drawers for the room would have been a good addition. There was a hairdryer, strong & powerful a definite plus point there.
We would stay at a Motel One again & will recommend the Princes Street site for those visiting Edinburgh. We waited a long time to visit & the city did not disappoint.
The pillows were not as good a standard we have come to expect from hotels, it is a personal opinion as they were on the soft side. If we were able to change them there was no signs to tell us. Nor was any literature about Edinburgh was provided. The other down side was breakfast, it is a continental style buffet, but I hadn't realised that when I booked, otherwise I would have chosen Room only. These were the 3 negatives which reduced our scores slightly.

Excellent location, opposite the train station. Quiet, near all tourist attractions, very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Room very clean, comfy bed, nice shower.

The decor was lovely and different Bed was very comfortable. Location excellent. Excellent value. Friendly staff. Cleaning staff gave fresh towels and made bed everyday.
