The grounds made for some lovely walks, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We also thoroughly enjoyed the meals, in all the settings.
The bed in the loft was a little warm at first, but opening the window wide and running the fan helped.

The Mary Queen of Scots history. Her woods and her trees.
Room very small, probably due to a wedding. Property not kept up. Staff didn’t know any of the history, including the main picture as you enter the lobby. No one seemed to know much about the place.

Beautiful castle with amazing staff. We loved everything about this castle. The room was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the castle was beautiful. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the castle itself and the surrounding town. They had setup for a wedding while we were there and It looked stunning. The grounds were well manicured. We saw many people out walking and enjoying the outdoors. The breakfast was wonderful. Several choices and the food was delicious. We especially liked trying the traditional Scottish breakfast. Highly recommend this place. Would gladly stay again.
