Great location, rooms were decorated preserving the history but , still adding the modern touch. Staff all very friendly and professional. Food outstanding,with a great choice, especially the breakfast, I had kippers my wife chose smoked haddock,both were delicious. Definitely worth a stay and I will definitely stay there again

Booked a family room loads of space easily fit the five of us me, my wife, two teenage boys and our 4 year old daughter. Two bedrooms with a four-poster bed in one, two singles in the other and a sofa bed. The place was lovely the staff are great and the food was amazing I would recommend.

On arrival the castle hotel looked magnificent just what we expected, private parking in the court yard was excellent. The location for the hotel was perfectly situated to get into Edinburgh and surrounding places of interest. All the hotel staff were great, very friendly, helpful and respectful, our evening meal in the restaurant was well cooked and the fish was exceptionally tasty -really enjoyable. We came for the Edinburgh Tattoo Festival so staying here was a bonus.
Disappointed with our room compared to the images on the website, not a true representation of what we expected.
Room in need of a little TLC. On our first morning we had the cooked breakfast which was average, pale cooked sausage and bacon, the scrambled eggs were on the cold side - toast was good. I don't mean to pick holes but for the price we paid we thought it would be a lot better, that said it didn't spoil our experience or stay at The Melville Castle Hotel.

Beautiful castle with lovely grounds, very quiet away from the hustle and bustle but close to amenities. I have always wanted to stay in a castle so another experience ticked off my bucket list.

The Castle and the grounds are beautiful. Plenty of areas to walk. Plenty of food choices for breakfast and dinner.

This is a charming and interesting hotel. It had comfortable rooms, a nice hot shower and bed.
The food in the restaurant was nice and staff were excellent
There are other areas to have a drink that are really beautiful in this hotel
A few stairs to go up with luggage, and there really isn't much of a garden in the front of the castle.
