Breakfast was gpod choice but cold. Coldcpoached egg notbgood.
Booked 2 rooms adjoining or next door, we got room 5 and 6....our 13 year old son was in 5 and us in 6. However they were not next door or adjpining, our son ended up sleeping in our room hotel state that they will agree to full refund of 1 room if we tell booking.com. please arrange and sendcrefund back to my card.

Nice setting, on route to our destination.
We were given an attic room with a soaking wet carpet. Bed a standard double. We both hit our heads off the lay in ceilings several times. I could’t even find our room as we were directed to the wrong floor. Had to go back yo reception. Don’t get room 209

The historic castle and park are absolutely magnificent. The decoration is very successful for a return to the past
The large, well-decorated room with a very comfortable bed.
The food at breakfast and especially in the restaurant is delicious.
The location : Although the castle is far from the town, after a 10-minute walk through thé parc, the number 3 bus takes us there in 20 minutes.
The weekend staff lacked professionalism and care. We weren't even allowed a smile!
Lack of organisation: too much waiting at breakfast and dinner.
You can have Tea at the Bar, but not real English-style Tea Time as shown in the misleading photos!
Please note that on some weekends there are weddings.
The restaurant room in the basement, with a strong unpleasant smell. Why didn't you choose one of the magnificent rooms to offer a restaurant worthy of this chateau?

There wasn't a single fault. I've stayed in many places and this place was unbelievable. The staff were amazing. The grounds were amazing.
That I didn't stay longer.

The castle was an amazing place to stay. Lovely grounds around. Choice of food.
When dining, there was a table of 2 adults and 4 children. The noise & behaviour of the children was disturbing other diners. I know it is a delicate subject to handle but a quiet word with the adults surely would be acceptable as the other diners could fully appreciate their dining experience.

Thought it might be interesting to stay at a REAL castle on our UK/Scotland vacation. Overall Melville Castle was a nice change from your average so so hotel. Why we were not THRILLED is apparantly, this place is also used for catering. So outside in a window or two you could see unsightly chairs up against a window...and if I recall there was a tent for catering on-site too...I might have that wrong. In the castle as you are walking towards the lobby from your room again you pass some disheveled room where a lot of chairs. are,..some poking thru a curtain just messy...Also had a musty smell passing that room. If not for the catering stuff we loved the stay otherwise. We did have an issue with our toilet that was to not working ....would not flush, but staff was super great had it fixed within in minutes. Resturant was ok....not amazing but it was good. Overall a unique experince, nice room...but the darn catering mess we saw makes me detract a star or two....Breakfast was good btw.
Clean up anything realted to catering...Don't make THAT so obvious..takes away the "feeling" of staying in a real castle to a degree.

Lovely location, grounds and room. Excellent cooked breakfast choice. Dinner somewhat dull.
Diners with dogs are segregated to an inferior location which spoils the experience. It’s not acceptable.
