Was my birthday treat to myself , to take me & two dogs away - two nights
I upgraded to a room with a sofa & all I got was a battered old chair ! I took my own dog blankets so all was covered & protected

The Hotel had a great choice of food, nice bar & restaurant. It was far out but great if you’d like to have a walk, the hotel room felt homely and relaxed. Unlike a hotel room feel to it. Booked it randomly as it seemed very nice and would 100% stay again.
The property itself was great and had an amazing choice of food, drinks. Room that I had was nice (not sure what other rooms are like) the only issue was it was very far out and cost £30 in a taxi there from Edinburgh centre.

Set in a stunning location with forest, rivers etc.
Near enough to the city, far enough away to enjoy the peace & tranquility.
Highly recommend.
Mobile signal was very poor, however, the wifi connection and coverage made up for it.

Beautiful old castle in a picturesque setting.Enjoyed walking around the grounds and onsite bar & restaurant.
Room was very warm not really able to open a window a small noisy fan was provided on request . Restaurant food was lovely however staff appeared to be very busy and the jus that was to accompany the beef dish was not provided. We had to wait at least 5 minutes to get the staff’s attention.

The ambiance of the hotel/castle and grounds was peaceful and elegant. I wish we had had more time for walks and other things available.
Although our rooms were elegant and comfortable, we were off in a side wing that looked like servant quarters as opposed to main house. It would be interesting to see how that compared to the main castle rooms.

The historical building with the beautiful inside and absolutely lovely walking trails. Super easy to get into downtown Edinburgh because the bus was right outside the gates. Nice local amenities nearby with a delicious restaurant for dinner. Great space for outdoor sitting, cocktails and just enjoying some relaxing time in a beautiful castle. Updated room and comfortable bed with great amenities. Clean and spacious rooms.
