Everything was perfect. The receptionist was excellent, extremely friendly and helpful, even arranged for us to check in early, which was a massive help after a 9hr drive.
The room was stunning and clean, the bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent.
The garden and grounds are beautiful.
The whole place has improved since I stayed last year.
Would definitely stay again

Absolutely stunning !
Staff went well above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable at all times. We had dinner in the restaurant twice . Well worth the money. Highly recommend

The staff at the castle were exceptional from the Chef to front desk gentleman to the Maitrte'd. The rooms were spotless and the bed was ever so comfortable. The ground were lovely with trails to walk about. This is the perfect place to be treated like royalty.

The hotel is 'tired', the air fresheners are noxious, there is no decaf coffee apart from instant, the bar does not sell sparkling water and the toaster does not work. The price is startlingly high for the facilities offered.

The property does give you the ‘castle feels’ and vibe and the grounds are lovely. The decor is well thought out and it’s a good compromise on value for money. Really enjoyed walking round the grounds and exploring and there was a lovely view from the bedroom. Wonderful to be so close to the city whilst in such a quiet, tranquil place. Also enjoyed reading about the history of the castle.
The ‘finishing touches’ were missing, particularly in the bathrooms, the wallpaper not quite stuck down in places etc… the staff (and in my opinion lack thereof) was an issue. Had diner at the hotel on one night and one waitress was borderline rude. Service was slow and it looked like most of the staff didn’t want to be there. Breakfast staff were lovely if slightly rushed off their feet - an extra pair of hands or two would help with turnover and efficiency.

Bartender was great and friendly, food in the bistro was very good, a neat castle, horses in the back, beautiful grounds.
Bed was absolutely terrible. There were deep indentions in the mattress which made it painful to sleep. We could feel the bar in our hips and back. The carpet on the stairs was wrinkled and a tripping hazard. When we checked in, we didn't receive any info about the property, dinner options, etc as he seemed too busy with a wedding party than to help us (we had 3 separate rooms). He basically gave us one key per room (had to go back to request more even though he offered other guests extra keys).
One of our rooms was the handicap accessible room. We liked the 2 bathrooms, but none of our windows opened and it was hot in there. The other rooms had windows that opened. One of the rooms' windows were skylights, which were open. The one over the bed got the bedding all dirty.
I tried reaching the property multiple times before booking to try to arrange rooms close to one another, but no one answered my emails. We had rooms spread out everywhere which was disappointing.
