The hotel and grounds were lovely. The food was great.
When we arrived, we were charged and automatically booked for a second room. We were told that the room we booked could only accommodate two adults, and we were two adults and two children. Our original room was on the ground floor, and the additional room that was booked for us was on the top floor. We arrived from London late in the evening and were told that our choices were to pay for the extra room or forego what we already paid for our room and find a different place to stay. However, I booked the room because their website specifically stated that the room could accommodate two adults and two children. Eventually, after multiple conversations with management, we were given a cot to stay together in our original room. This was extremely unpleasant.

Lovely hotel, great bus service to Edinburgh. Lovely food and staff and so much more value for money than staying in Edinburgh during peak times such as the festival or when the Six Nations Rugby is on and the prices on the city centre double!

Location was easy to get to.
A bit dated inside, odd stale smell. Patchy paint, peeling paint and wallpaper. Carpet stains, dirty carpet.

The staff couldn’t do enough, upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and handed a doggy bag full of goodies for my Dalmatian, we were even given a room with a door to the outside for the dog to have easier access to the loo. The little gift shop was a nice little area to grab some gifts for family and friends.
