The breakfast was good and had ample choices. The room, and especially the bathroom, were spacious. The area nestled inside the university was very nice, with tree-lined areas for walking.
I didn't like the parking situation. I was particularly annoyed that they didn't inform me when I arrived, after I had messaged them three times asking for details about the parking situation, that we needed a parking permit to park on the university grounds if a spot became available. So, when we finally found a place, I still had to run back to the hotel to ask again about the parking, and only then did they give me the parking permit. For a 4-star hotel, I feel that the parking situation should be better delineated and communicated. That was poor planning on their side.
Also, the mattresses were too soft.
We also had asked for twin beds, but they gave us twin beds that were attached. I believe that if you request twin beds, they should be separate, not connected to form a super king-size bed.

Beautiful setting on the University of Edinburgh campus. Pleasant and modern room. Very close to the bus stop for easy trip to old town and new town.
Parking is limited, but we were lucky to have a space available. It was a bit expensive. The only complaint we had about the room was that lighting in the bathroom was set up such that there was no nightlight and you had to turn on very bright overhead lights to use the bathroom at night.

The room was absolutely immaculate, lovely features such as a coffee machine and the bathroom felt really luxurious. Bed was comfortable and the sheets were high quality.
The only thing that we would give constructive feedback about is that the outside of the hotel doesn’t reflect the high standard inside the hotel, before walking in I was quite dubious! A few extra car parking spaces would be a bonus but we found one regardless!

Loved the quiet location. Not sure if that is the case year round but in early May it was very quiet. It os right by Arthur's seat which was so nice

Set in the gardens of the University of Edinburgh, this was a quiet, luxurious retreat. Excellent breakfast. Nearby local buses will take you to the center of Edinburgh. One of the best places we stayed in our trip.

Minute walk to centre of Edinburgh . Buses outside if needed . Great to visit students staying in Pollock Halls of residence . Very reasonably priced restaurant . Lovely toiletries in shower . Good selection of teas and coffee in the room . Staff all very friendly and helpful .
