Attractive environment, close to Queens Drive for walking, comfortable and good size room, helpful staff. Very good buffet breakfast. Chief waitress at dinner very helpful (see below).
Room not very well designed, with space wasted in bathroom, very large drawers but limited hanging space in main room.
Had dinner there twice, first night fine, second night ordered shared sea-food dish, but items different from those on menu (no smoked salmon or prawns) - they had run out of certain things but inexplicably the chef did not tell anyone. However after complaints we were allowed to reorder and no charge at all made for food, so everything turned out well and waiting staff were excellent.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely spacious room. Very good breakfast with crispy bacon! Free parking.
I had to request the toilet be cleaned over again when we first arrived, but this was resolved quickly by staff.

The staff were fantastic, check in was easy, parking was easy, the hotel is walking distance to some lovely food options and a quick uber into the city. The location is gorgeous and the gardens are so lovely. The bed and pillows were so comfy, best we've had on our UK/Europe trip yet and the shower was huge - gorgeous waterfall shower head, so impressed. We will absolutely be back
There was only limited parking so if you do really need a park you may need to try a few times to find one. Also there was no mini fridge which wasn't an issue for us but could be inconvenient if you were staying longer.

Easy check in and check out process, kind and welcoming staff, room was made up even if we didn't ask for it, good breakfast, short walk to the bus stop. If you're into walking, the city centre is just a 20-30 min walk from the hotel. Overall, excellent for a short stay.
The coffee machine wasn't working but not really a huge issue as we were out all day

Perfect environment close to nature. Bus stop is right around the corner. The staff is super nice and helpful. The room is well equipped and clean. The bar is affordable and the beverages are super tasty.

Lovely room, friendly staff, excellent food.
Limited parking. Slightly too far from old town. We enjoy a walk, but would have liked it a little bit closer. Good for buses though and an uber is only £5 (didn’t do either).

Wonderful
The room was very nice, clean and spacious for a family of 3 with a dog. Especially the full size bed for our 17 year old son was great. The rooms and ensuite look very modern. For breakfast you can choose between continental and cooked, there is plenty of choice and it all tastes wonderful. When we need to stay over again in Edinburgh we will definitely consider The Scholar.
