Staff very friendly and welcoming. Happy to give slightly later checkout to accommodate our plans.
Heating wasn't switched on in the room when we checked in but they happily brought up a heater.

Room and location, along with friendly and helpful Staff made our stay ever so wonderful. The coffee/tea service is a welcome touch and much appreciated.
Lighting in the room, especially the bathroom is hideous, and obviously not designed by anybody concerned about putting make-up on. More lighting in dark corners of the room would have improved our stay (4 nights, 5 days) more comfortable.
Happy to report the Fitness Room facilities are available, though it could use more equipment, lighting and mirrors.

We found the staff at Malmaison to be exceptional. They went above and beyond for every question we asked and were the highlight of staying at this hotel. We really felt the care and passion they had for their craft.

The lady who checked us in was extremely pleasant and helpful.
The room was very small. The bathroom fan had nowhere to turn it off and was on the whole time. The bed was very close to the bathroom so couldn’t escape the fan noise.
The service in the bar was appalling.

Close to Tram station so very easy to get into the City and also the Royal Britannia museum which was attached to a quiet shopping centre which also had a cinema.

The location was ideal for us as had the opportunity to dine at some nearby restaurants and take the tram to the city centre.
The bedroom wasn’t as comfortable as I had hoped - there was quite a lot of dust on the skirting boards, the bedroom and bathroom was cold as well as the sofa being very uncomfortable which is not what I would have expected in a suite.

Location and the room and facilities were clean and new.
The room service was terrible. The 70£ steak was grey and well done and the cook sliced it up, I’m guessing to make it look bigger. Front desk help was kinda inept. From preforming a refund to grabbing me a fork from the kitchen. Nice people, just lacking customer service .

We have visited the hotel many times, over as many years and are always happy to return. The staff are constantly courteous and friendly. The bedroom was completely comfortable and linen was of a very good quality.
The bar area is detrimental to the overall ambiance of the hotel. It needs improvement as does the entrance. First impressions matter a lot. We were informed on a previous visit that these improvements were due to commence in October of this year. However, on inquiring there appears to be no mention of this happening at all!
P S could we have marmalade and honey at breakfast please?

Room was OK, needs some minor attention, frayed carpet, rusty around toilet edges, complementary tea and coffee set a bit cheap was more like a travelodge than a top end Edinburgh hotel, poor breakfast way below expectations, good continental section but cooked food a bit poor, not worth the £22.00 / head
