The beds were comfortable and the room clean and modern. The location was outstanding - quiet but in the heart of Leith Docks.
Service was a bit chaotic - although we arrived early, there was no queueing system so we were allocated the last available room a minute before check-in time; we were then sent in error to a room which had not been made up yet. A free drink at the bar by way of apology was a nice gesture, but unfortunately the bar was so disorganised that we waited ten minutes for service while staff made up other orders without even acknowledging that we and others were waiting. The room would have been quieter if it had been possible to turn off the bathroom extractor fan at night.

The property is in a great location with excellent parking and the rooms were a good size. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was good. Hotel was clean and tidy.
Service was very slow ..probably due to staff shortages. The option to not have house keeping but have a free drink was not as advertised as you had a voucher for £7.50 that did not cover the price of any alcoholic drink on the menu. To be fair, when those was pointed out to the staff when checking out, it was recognised as unfair and was rectified. Pre authorisation for drinks and food was not explained or done and as a result, each time we ordered we had to go through a reauthorisatuon for that order which didn’t seem to carry forward. Surprisingly there was no hand or body lotion in the rooms which I would expect of a hotel of this standard.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent with easy access to Edinburgh either walking or getting a tram.
While the Junior suite was nice it was on the 4th floor. The walk in shower and bath were very nice but would have preferred windows that actually opened in the room.

Ideal location, beautiful building, excellent facilities and very friendly staff.
The only thing I’d change would be to add Lorne sausage and tattie scone to the full breakfast option. Or is the capital of Scotland after all. Some cliches actually do work.
