Location
Room was not adequate for use. With disability cables everywhere despite not booking it as such. Difficult with a child who wanted to pull them not understanding what they where. Breakfast was a shamble. Empty Bread baskets dirty dishes everywhere. Almost no food left at 10am. I had finished my food by the time eggs arrived. I would not recommend this hotel. Definitely not a 4 star breakfast.

The staff were excellent. We stayed at the hotel 3x during our trip as we left for st Andrews and isle of Skye on multi day trips using the Marriott as our home base between trips. The staff knew us and held extra bags while we toured. It felt like coming home each time. The breakfast each morning was great, although the coffee was weak. The location was good too. Right off the Royal mile. The rooms were large and clean.

The hotels location at the end of the Royal Mile and beside the Palace of Holyrood was perfect. Breakfasts were equally nice. Some of the staff were very pleasant especially the bar staff. One of the guys on the bar staff was very good, pleasant and full of banter. An all round nice lad.
Didn't get a very welcoming feel from the spa, quite dour to be honest. Rooms felt quite bare and lacking in atmosphere. Was I in Edinburugh, I couldn't tell from the room. The mirrors in reception and the lights over the bar need a clean / polish for goodness sake. It's the first thing you see in the hotel.

I liked the size of the room, the lighting, mirtors the shower was really good and the shower gel. the location great to see Hollyrood but quite a walk to Princes Street
I like tea. More milk would have been great.
