I liked the size of the room, the lighting, mirtors the shower was really good and the shower gel. the location great to see Hollyrood but quite a walk to Princes Street

The breakfast started at 6:30 am on weekdays and started at 7:00 am on weekends. This is Not consistent. We were not informed until we went for breakfast at 6:30 am at weekend and were surprised seeing nothing to eat

But there were some problems more serious than that.
I booked a twin bed room more than one month in advance, asking for a room on high floor and away from lift because I am a light sleeper. However, when I checked into the hotel around 3:15 pm, I was assigned a room on the ground floor. When I entered the corridor leading to the room , I saw the first room was for the housekeeping with some housekeeping stuff in the doorway, blocking the corridor. I asked for a change and was given a room on the first floor just next to the lift! When I questioned why they couldn’t give me a room on higher floor and away from the lift, the front desk lady showed inpatient expression and told me that there was no twin room on the higher floor and that was the only twin room available. I just cannot believe that a six story hotel doesn’t have twin rooms higher than 1st floor, especially I actually saw the king bed was made by two single beds. I only slept for about 3 hours on Saturday night because it’s very noisy due to the position of that room.
There was salad for the buffet breakfast. But there’s no salad dressing next to it. I asked for olive oil for the first day and 2nd day. And finally realized on the 3rd day that the salad for the breakfast in this hotel is just a decoration item because there would never be no salad dressing next to it. This is really exceptional!

Location is good, easy to get to from the bus station when coming from and to airport, but you can always request a cab from reception.
My friend and I walked everywhere from the hotel, so the surroundings and the city are very safe for female and solo travelers.
The room was clean and the breakfast was good.
We booked the room with breakfast included, my friend that arrived before me was informed at the desk that we don't have breakfast included and that booking.com was not working properly. After a couple of negotiations we got the breakfast we booked and payed for.
The pool is small and was crowded with children so it's not enjoyable experience.
It was very loud the entire night on the floor as everyone that comes on it slams the door separating the hallway from that floor and room for cleaning service and maintenance is close it's always very busy.
The room was half below ground floor so the windows were accessible easily from the outside, we were not comfortable sleeping here at first but got used to it.
