Comfortable hotel, on the bus route to town but in a very quiet location. Iman was very courteous and friendly. She looked after us so well, from check-in, cooked breakfast and bus information. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Edinburgh.

e were warmly welcomed by the reception staff . The parking was very convenient. We popped over to the bar and the staff member were very polite and full of information, everything was clean , you got complimentary water , tea , biscuits, hot chocolate, coffee and sherry on top Wich was amazing

We really enjoyed our stay at kildonan lodge hotel confortable room and great service , great bed spacious bathroom with nice shower the staff members in the hotel and during morning when The were serving breakfast were exceptional every single one pleasant and accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety of. The lounge was so beautifully decorated and the honesty bar and u can help yourself to anything I highly recommend it .

Close enough to access all the tourist sites in Edinburgh but far enough away that it was quite and relaxing. Great neighbourhood with a bus stop right across the road that took us straight to the Royal Mile. Lovely staff who were very accommodating. A small but very comfortable room with a bath. Had parking included, bed was comfortable, staff pleasant. Quiet. Did offer us breakfast.
Hit head on slanted ceiling. We are in mid 70s, would have been nice if someone offered to help with luggage up stairs to top floor when we arrived. A young man did when we checked out. Issue with toilet flushing.

Complaint Regarding Misleading Hotel Listing and Poor Stay Experience
I usually don’t leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my recent experience due to how misleading and disappointing it was.
I booked what was advertised as a 4-star hotel, only to arrive at what felt more like a hastily constructed building using the cheapest materials. The carpet appeared unclean and likely hadn’t been washed in a very long time, which triggered my allergies and kept me awake throughout the night. The walls were paper-thin — I could hear everything from the neighbouring rooms, making it feel more like a budget B&B or even an HMO than a proper hotel.
The breakfast was another let down — not only was it of poor quality, but it also started at 8:30 AM, which is unusually late for travellers. The explanation that it’s “made to order to avoid waste” doesn’t justify the inconvenience.
What’s most frustrating is that the back building — where I was placed — wasn’t even shown in the listing photos. This is misleading and borders on false advertising. I feel completely misled and disappointed, especially considering the price I paid. I could have booked with a well-known hotel chain that doesn’t even claim to be 4-star and still had a better experience.
This experience has put me off booking independent hotels through your platform. I strongly urge you to re-evaluate the rating and listing of this property and ensure that all parts of the accommodation are transparently represented in the future.
I am so glad it was only one night as I would have left the next day.
