Attractive design. Clean and tidy. Bed & bathroom very good.
Short walk from Waverley Station - if you know the way and don't mind skirting the current road works and neighbouring building work. (These may finish in the coming weeks or months).
Good location for walking to Royal Mile and other attractions. Dynamic Earth particularly recommended.
Room lighting was poor. Room looked very dingy in the evening. No light for desk work or reading in the armchair.
TIP - move the chair to near the door to get the one ceiling light.

All the furniture and products were top-notch. It was the best quality among the Leonardo hotels I've stayed at so far. I highly recommend it.

Provision of water in the room
1. Very noisy room (516) right next to the lifts so could hear the constant clicking and clonking and noise like a loud hoover as the lift was used through the night. Very poor sleep as a result. This was supposed to be a Superior Room and I had requested a quiet room with a nice view!
2. No mirror near a socket so drying hair was very difficult.
3.no drawers provided.
4. Only one hook in bathroom.
5. View over the main train station. However informed by staff that this is the “sought after “ view as the other side was rubbish bins and scaffolding.. this was true.
6. Drab colour schemes throughout but particularly drab in bedroom.
7. The food at breakfast wasn’t hot enough.
8. Staff indifference when checking out after explaining about the noise from the lifts.

Hotel near to Waverly station.
Booked superior room with kingsize bed.
Was allocated room with just double bed. On calling reception eventually moved to superior room with great king-size bed. But room same size!
No toilet brush in bathroom. Very low water pressure in shower. Not good when washing hair.
Extensive Building works going on to back, front & side of hotel. Not informed of this. Very noisy from 8 onwards. Scaffolding everywhere. Wouldn't have booked here had we known.

It was clean
Went to check in our rooms had been double booked. Staff very dishonest about it tried to book 3 of us into one room, then upped our rate by £1k!!! No apology, sorted in the end the next day by the manager but appalling service by reception staff and duty manager . This hotel really isn’t worth the money. Very expensive for what it is. Rooms were small, despite being upgraded room just looked out onto a wall of other rooms. Inadequate storage for clothes. Customer service lacking from some staff members, nothing special for the price.

Rooms were large and staff were mostly very nice and friendly. Breakfast is excellent and the greeter there is excellent.
Lots of construction around ( realize this is temporary) and a miscommunication with staff member re: our ability to leave a bag caused some anxiety.
