I was emailed on the day of arrival that the road was closed due to road works LIE The hotel had building work going on with builders in and out the hotel, the road was closed due to 2 huge monster cranes and lorries removing another crane which was on the other side of the hotel, this went on 24/7 for the 3 days we were there.
A/C not working in one of the bedrooms took 2 days to fix
Expected far better rooms for the price ie only one chair supplied in the bedroom Origianly offered a room so small there was only 1 bedside table as not enought room for 2

Great central location. In walking distance of all amenities, attractions, restaurants, bars etc. Staff could not do enough for us from the complimentary bottles of bubbles & chocolates in our room for our anniversary to facilitating our room change when we asked & transferring our luggage for us to new room. Food & drink very nice too and very comfortable beds.

The kind staff and location
There’s huge construction going on in the hotel, it’s very loud, dusty, smells bad and there are construction workers everywhere smoking and dumping cigarettes all around the hotel. It’s disgusting.

The location is great, in front of waverely train station, adjacent to royal mile and princess street is 5 minutes walk, st james quarter is 10 minutes walk .
So everything is a walking distance which makes my first choice
I faced an issues with one of the receptionists, her attitude towards me was not professional, guests should not be treated that way, such attitude is not acceptable at all anywhere , the management of the hotel knew about the same day. It’s not one time incident but it two times by the same person.
This can be isolated incident related to personal behavior but it doesn’t represent the whole image of hotel staff as I have interacted with others who very respectful and welcoming.
The other housekeeping is not perfect as it should. Leftover trash can be found after cleaning, spoons not cleaned and coffee table not cleaned. I have addressed this issue to the management for more than two times .
From 19 to 21 July there was a work on Jeffery st in front of the hotel which led to road closure and noise . The hotel in fact has no control on that

Friendly staff. Clean room. In the room, you get many small things that you may need water, coffee, tea, and cookies. Great breakfast.
