Wonderful
Friendly staff, easy check in, fabulous food, and fun to walk around the area. Appreciated the dark out curtains in the room too.
Nothing we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Very Good
The location was perfect right next to the forth bridge, with very good parking just a small walk into the village, the evening meal was good although not a big choice for my tastes, the staff were great very friendly and polite and helpful we had to change our evening meal times twice
We didn't like the noise from the large fans or whatever they were at 6 30 am ,they were quite loud couldn't get back to sleep

Fair
An old fashioned historic inn with nice staff and co genial public spaces. However our rooms were of the MOST basic we’ve stayed in for a long time.
Reminiscent of Scottish hotel bedrooms from the ‘70s!

Very Poor
The room was adequate and the location was spectacular
Dinner service was abysmal- we arrived exactly on time ordered a couple of 'whilst you decide snacks' along with 2 simple main courses. We waited 30 minutes before I approached staff and informed them that my wife was diabetic and that our main course needed to arrive straight after the snack which we were told was coming, It is worth noting a couple who arrived 20 minutes after us were served before our snack had arrived. We were assured that since we ordered both at the same time as the snacks then it would be soon after. Another 30 minutes later as we still did not get our order and we left the table as it was now essential to get my wife some food immediately. We had the snacks removed from the bill but the drink was still charged. No apology was offered. Despite us having the snack in the room the wait was too long for her insulin to be effective. And no surprise wife suffered a dangerous hypoglycaemia episode that completely ruined our night. We had no choice but to stay as I was over the drink drive limit otherwise we would have left. I raised this with Vintage Inns as I believe their staff needs training on dealing with diabetic people and their chief needs a lesson on how to get 2 simple dishes out to non busy restaurant on time. I have not heard back from them which is very very poor.

Wonderful
Love the atmosphere of this inn. Was great to sit and have drinks. Dinner was nice. Our view of the water was great. The family room was enormous and we enjoyed the design. Nice hot shower. Big parking lot for guests.
Beds were extremely firm, so a memory foam top would have gone a long way in helping with comfort. Would prefer a second bed instead of sofa sleeper seeing there was so much space to fit it. Road is slightly noisy with a biker bar nearby. A bit far to get luggage from back parking lot around to the entrance.

Good
Location for next day event & views over Firth of Forth
Poor signage approach to rear entrance of hotel ends up going down back rod full of potholes! Room very dark lacking personality. Bed & bathroom comfortable & clean. Evening meal was very nice but restaurant lacked any ambience.
Window broken in bar area occluded view - shame!
Issue with being charged for breakfast which was included in our fee to Booking.com. Hotel said this keeps happening- not our issue as a customer.

Fabulous location
My room was lovely but there was a drain ish smell coming from the bathroom the first night. The second night it seemed to have gone so maybe it was just from lack of use.

The location is great, the views were lovely, breakfast was good, the rooms were clean. Staff were pleasant.
Felt for the price of the room breakfast should have been included.
There's never enough milk pods in the room, so you can only have one cup of coffee.
