Good location. I have never paid so much money to be put in musty basement room with a tiny view of peoples feet walking by the window.
The lady on reception was rude when we check in and seemed disproportionally concerned with my son who was with us to to settle us in the room, who lives in Edinburgh, and the inference was he was trying to stay in the room overnight.

The location of the hotel was perfect.

An excellent location. The hotel has been given an aggressively trendy and radical makeover which may not be to everyone's taste. Our room was quiet, though on the small side. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was nice to have breakfast included.
The price! we are used to staying at Ibis hotels, which are usually better priced. This one was on the expensive side, and I did wonder whether the charges were due to management's need to recover the cost of renovation, which must have been huge - and a lot of it in my view unnecessary!

Friendly, responsive staff.
Exceptional breakfast.
Hotel very secure, with doors locked from 8pm to 8am and lift only worked with a room key.
24hr reception desk.
Excellent location at St.Andrews Square for tourist areas of the city, Edinburgh Waverley train station, central bus station and tram route to Royal Yacht and/or airport.
Extremely comfortable bed.
Very effective blind and curtain at window.
Quiet.
Alternative restaurants very close by.
Leaking pipe under bathroom sink on arrival. However, this was fixed immediately.
Food choices in the evening somewhat limited but great to have the option to remain at the hotel and access something to eat, if desired.

In an excellent central location for our needs. Quirky environmental friendly hotel. Staff so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. So clean and beds comfy. This is my 4th stay and I’ll be back.

Loved the location and the proximity to Waverley. The staff were super helpful and the breakfast was well-stocked and ran for hours. The midday checkout was also handy!
It seems so simple, but while the hotel has wifi and the tv’s were massive - there was no ability to watch Netflix or any digital tv. Which seems like a basic ting these days for the price you pay.

Location was excellent and we were able to walk from the railway station. Staff were very helpful. Hotel was clean through out.
When we arrived at reception I showed the staff an email saying that a nice room on the first floor overlooking St Andrews Square had been allocated to us. However these rooms were already occupied so we were unable to have one.

Great room with AC, Nice interior, the bed was big and comfortable, well located and nice breakfast.

Location
Parking was awful….0.6 miles away and dragging luggage that far in rain was awful.
Breakfast was mediocre…cornflakes not Kellogg but a cheap brand…orange juice very watered down….food below par.
Very expensive for what it was. Would not return!
