Walking distance to the Royal Mile and most major sights. Clean rooms. Very helpful staff in many ways.
No lock on the bathroom door. It was just a glass swinging door. The food in the restaurant was not very good, but the prices for the food were reasonable.

The location was great and the staff were very friendly. The bar serves nice drinks and food for when you don't feel like hitting the town which can be quite busy
Only on the last morning did the staff let me know that there were different types of gluten-free pastry available on request. It would have been nice to know that earlier in our stay.

Excellent location 2mins from the train station. Room was a nice size and comfortable bed. Breakfast was really nice lots of choice.
I didn’t have any dislikes about the hotel.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, even charged my phone when my charger stopped working. Fantastic location and the room was beautiful, and huge!
The only negative was the breeze block view from the basement window, maybe a lick of paint, or some plants would make it better.

I couldn’t figure out how to turn the AC on and never asked staff, so it’s my fault. But I was hot at night.

The hotel is in a perfect location and the staff are fantastic.
Our double room was a little cramped, and I say that having stayed at this hotel before in larger rooms. This was a bit of a disappointing surprise. Also, the double bed was in fact two singles pushed together, and there was a 10cm gap between the mattresses - not comfortable and a bit annoying. Unfortunately there was a persistent bad smell in the bathroom, which I guess was coming from a drain. Finally, there simply isn’t enough space in the dining and seating areas to accommodate everyone at breakfast time.

The hotel is in an excellent location, which is definitely a big plus. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was decent. We only stayed for one night though.
The room was on the smaller side, but nothing problematic. After reading some other reviews, I was concerned it might feel too cramped, but it turned out to be perfectly comfortable. The shower was particularly nice and a great feature of the room.
The only downside was the temperature in the room. I couldn’t quite figure out the air conditioning at night to get it comfortable, and since the windows couldn’t be opened, the air felt a bit stuffy. If this were improved, either with more effective air conditioning or the option for fresh air, it would make the hotel an excellent choice overall.
