Location was very central to the Royal Mile and the heart of old Edinburgh.
No A/C and it was 33C with only a window that opened 2 inches. We even had to go to the front desk to get a fan.
Also, there is an old abandoned church right in front of the hotel that has become a hang out for homeless people and transients and lots of various drugs involved. We were very concerned with getting home one evening as a ruckus had broken out that we had to maneuver through.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. Scrambled eggs, yogurt, cereals, fresh baguettes, cheeses, juices, sausages, bacon, croissant. Only thing missing was oatmeal! Shower was nice and the bed was comfortable. Location outstanding, close to sites along royal mile that we came to see. Staff was very helpful and appreciated by us. Luggage storage after arriving from airport was great and appreciated.
Very small room. Hard to find a place for our 2 carry on luggage. No place to put anything and just one chair to sit on. Air flow was minimal with the window open on courtyard side. Quite warm in the room on 70s to 80 days we were there. We had the twin bed setup and that worked well for us.

The Royal mile was just around the corner so could walk everywhere. The staff was very friendly. Pretty good breakfast, and a little sitting area in the evening for a night cap and snacks. .
Hotel in front of hunter square where alot of drinkers would hang out. (Harmless,but police and arrests happened every night) Our room was good, but a little bit of a musty smell. Elevators are wierd. Our room was 415, but a 2 level floor so had to carry our luggage a few steps up

Very central. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast.
Rooms were very warm. Air conditioning would have been good. Very expensive but in line with other hotels in Edinburgh.

Great location near all attractions and restaurants. Gluten free options at area restaurants who understand cross contamination concerns. Room met all our expectations with cleanliness, towels, tea, dryer, open window, TV, comfortable sleeping, nice hot shower. With the warm weather a fan would be useful but we were not overly hot.

Brilliant location, lovely reception and cleaning staff, easy to check in and out, staff dealt with an issue with our hot water very quickly.
Had to have a cold shower on the first morning because there was no hot water, although to be fair this did get fixed very quickly after we raised the issue at reception. The beds have a mattress topper on top of mattress, and they kept sliding around during the night, nearly fell out of bed. There were comfortable but should be fixed onto the mattress somehow, maybe with elastic.

Room cold no matter what you set temperature dial to. Very very basic. Don’t expect anything bar kettle. You are paying for location and nothing else!

I liked the breakfast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect for our needs.
This could not be helped, but there is a fair amount of noise from the street through the night.
