The hotel location is hard to beat—on the Royal Mile, and just 5 mins walk (uphill) from the airport bus stop at Waverley Station. The rooms are very "ibis", i.e., basic but adequate. I really liked the plate of free pastries (breakfast left-overs, I assume) down in the lobby.
For an ibis hotel, staying here is very expensive.

The location can’t be beat! You’re right off the Royal Mile, and it’s very quiet at night! The staff were very friendly, buffet breakfast was good and the bar downstairs is open until 4am!

Very central location just next to the Royal Mile, comfy room, secure and easy access. Room was a comfortable temperature, which is lucky because I can never figure out how to work the systems. You can opt out of daily room cleaning for a £5 voucher towards breakfast (which I think was £13). They held luggage no problem before and after my stay for a few hours.
The bathroom door doesn't stay open - such a silly thing to be annoyed by! But if that's all I have to complain about then it must have been pretty good.

Breakfast was good even if not included in price. We only ate there one of the two days. The room was clean as was the bathroom

This hotel is in a great location. It is right off the Royal Mile so there is easy access to restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. The hotel rooms are comfortable and reasonable clean. The staff is both friendly and helpful.
The breakfast is not worth the price. I would not recommend including it with your stay.

We liked the location to the Royal Mile and the room was small but ok for us. Being we were only there to sleep and shower. We did like the bar downstairs and the breakfast area.
It was a little noisy outside the front of the hotel, but really did not bother us.

Location was perfect. Lots of nearby pubs and restaurants. Just off the Royal Mile so able to walk everywhere we wanted to go

Disappointing
It was at the center of the city. Staff was helpful.
Maintenance construction was ongoing. If you use the hotel for the night only no problem, but if you are jet lagged or need a siesta no luck.
Also the first day there was no hot water and with the help of the staff we had to transfer to the other IBIS hotel for the night. Next day, moved back again.
