A hotel that is very central for the city and the main train station. It was immaculate and the room furnishings were comfortable.
The city view room that we had was very small and is not clearly shown in any of the photos of the hotel. This was quite disappointing and made sharing the room difficult for the premium price paid. I expected more than what was delivered.

Excellent location (right across Waverley train station, close to the Royal Mile, Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle, a mall, etc.) Comfortable bed. Complimentary snacks (crisps and shortbread cookies) replenished daily.
It's a 200-yr old hotel so it would be better with thicker walls as I can hear the people in the other room, albeit faintly. Reception is on the 2nd floor and you cannot use the lift if you don't have the room key yet, There's usually a personnel on the 1st floor but when I arrived, around 11am, there was no one there. Good thing I decided not to bring my huge luggage.

Perfect central location; very welcoming and helpful staff; big, comfy beds; considering our room faced the train station there was barely any noise coming from the street; sparkling clean room and bathroom.
Would recommend overall!
The TVs aren't Smart TVs which you expect nowadays, it's nice to come back after a long day exploring and stream your fave shows.
We had a horrendous smell come from the drains on the second morning. The receptionist was very helpful and apologetic and came up with drain cleaner and air freshener and offered to switch our room if the smell persisted (thankfully it dissipated after half an hour and didn't happen again). From other reviews this is a recurring issue, although not that frequent.

Perfect location near to Train Station. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Restaurant has city views. Suites have city views.

I wish the standard queen would also have a nice Edinburgh view. Were unfortunate to get a brick wall view under construction.

Everything. It was really clean, smelt great, it was quirky but also retained and accentuated the beautiful Georgian/ Victorian heart of the building. The beds were amazing and the food and service at Twenty (restaurant) was exquisite. Also, Waverley Train Station is literally steps from the door of the hotel.
The lift is a little small and only one of them, but to retain period features, I will take one small lift every day.

Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much for them to do for us. The room was comfortable and a high standard.
The loud music in thr resurant at meal times.
The lighting was dim in the bedroom especially in the kettle area and the lifts. Pressed the emergency button in error, couldnt see "4" .

After a horrible welcome at Bonnie Hotel, where we were confronted with a room that smelt like sewage and dishonest staff members, my girlfriend booked this hotel instead as I was fighting with the Bonnie Hotel for a promised refund - still not received.
We truly had a lovely stay at Indigo hotel. The location was great and the staff was very nice. The room was perfect and everything was as it should be. What started off as a disaster for us, was all made up for by Indigo hotel and its staff members. Thank you for making our stay in Edinburgh memorable.
