It was close to Waverley Train Station.
We took the half board which wasn’t good value at all. It just gave us each a £40 credit on what we ate from the dinner menu. Why pay £40 without any extra value?

Location was great. Very central. Room was clean and cool. A good night's sleep in a comfortable bed.
Lock on the bathroom door was broken. Breakfast wasn't good and a waste of money. I am gluten free and after explaining this to the waitress, she took my breakfast order. It arrived as a normal breakfast, with items containing gluten in it. I returned it, again explaining I'm gluten free. It returned again, still with items containing gluten in them. I questioned this and the waiter confirmed they were gluten free. He said he had asked the chef. When I asked if he was sure ( I'm well versed in a gluten free diet) he checked and they were indeed full of gluten. They offered to remake the breakfast, but since eating gluten makes me v unwell and I had lost trust in the chef, I said no. Making do with fruit and cheese, from the continental items. Disappointing and dangerous behaviour from waiting staff and chef. Still expected me to pay £20 for a poor breakfast.

Conveniently located near tram stop and in walking distance to Old Town and New Town, so you can see it all without a car or taxi. We also were provided an early check-in, which was much appreciated after traveling from San Diego on back-to-back flights and arriving at 10am.
The only complaint was limited breakfast time and menu availability, but great snacks helped tie us over.
