Our room had an awful drain/sewage smell coming from the bathroom and if the bathroom door was left open - it was in the bedroom too

Lovely hotel and very nice staff especially Edwina. We had a delightful surprise of being upgraded, they rooms we were given were really lovely
Our room was very cold, no matter how high we turned up the thermostat the room was cold, we mentioned it to reception and they sent someone to look at it but it didn't make any difference, we had booked two rooms the other one was fine, because of the room temperature I couldn't give 5/5

Hotel’s location is great.
We were first put in room 315 which suffered from horrendous fan noise from outside. Upon request we were moved to the nearby room 615 on the same floor (staff was friendly, quick, and helpful in that regard), alas it was not much better and there were no other rooms in our category available. We were told the hotel was not responsible for the noise, which later turned out being untrue (ventilation fans hung on the hotel’s outer wall), and beside the point - these rooms should be taken out of circulation until proper sound proofing work is undertaken. For 300 euro a night I expect to not be put in a position where I have to take initiative and ask for a usable room. I do not enjoy being faced with limited room options upon arrival, and having to ask for the least bad of the options. I can’t be the first person to complain, and in my eyes the hotel plays dumb and hopes to get away with it. They will surely respond to this with excuses, and claim they wish they had known of this, and would have moved us yet again. Spare me, and please finish upgrading the rooms before putting them up.

Beautiful location, very welcoming and friendly staff, who very kindly marked my husband’s birthday with chocolates and cake.
The shower temperature wasn’t very hot, but otherwise everything was lovely.

Location couldn't be better. Literally across the street from the train station (Waverly). Walking distance to Royal Mile and situated just at the edge of New Town. Nice breakfast.

Great hotel, classy and stylish l. Really good location too. Beautifully decorated rooms There's a great bar at the hotel too, perfect for cocktails.
The room was a bit too warm and there is a motion censored light in the open cabinet right next to the bed. Which meant that it lit up throughout the night every time you moved in bed.

Nice large comfortable room. Very comfortable bed. Good views of the city. Breakfast was really excellent. Hotel restaurant was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
The room was a bit tired could have done with a bit of redecoration. Bedside light missing. Couldn't open windows properly. No information about how to contact Reception from the room & so had to go down two flights of stairs to ask a simple question. No instructions on how to work the aircon. One of purpose rooms had an unpleasant sewage-like odour.
