The perfect location for exploring the city, yet you have a heavenly sense of peace to relax, far enough away from the streets crowded with tourists. About a 25-minute walk or a few minutes by bus to the city center. There’s plenty of greenery nearby, with trails perfect for walks at any time of day (we recommend hiking up Arthur’s Seat and exploring the surrounding area for breathtaking views of the Scottish countryside). The staff were more than friendly; we felt truly welcome there, just like at home. They’re also happy to offer advice on anything and do their best to accommodate all requests. Breakfast was always delicious, plentiful, and served quickly. The room amenities matched the photos and were fully functional; everything was clean.
I probably can't find anything to complain about; they even accommodated my request for an early check-in without charging any fees. If I really had to mention a downside, it would probably be the sink, which has separate faucets for cold and hot water—which is very impractical these days—but I understand that it’s part of the historical style of the entire property.

Great hosts who made us feel like family. Did our laundry for a reasonable price and gave us clear informative ideas on how to travel downtown.
We love to walk and walked to the royal mile and back several times, but bus service is easy from the hotel too.
Highly recommended.

The property was very clean and the location was near to Edinburgh several buses took you to the centre for the castle royal mile etc
breakfast was great fresh and hot cooked to order good selection of cereals fruit and pastries
Our room was quite small and the double bed didn’t have a lot of room to move round on one side difficult to manuver at night when getting b up for the toilet

Kevin was absolutely amazing! He's so kind and funny. The location is perfect, really close to the centre but far enough to be a peaceful place to rest. The bed was comfortable, the room was big and the toilet was clean. The breakfast options are really good. A highly recommended place to stay if you want to visit Edinburgh.

Very Good
Staff was very friendly and breakfast was great. Climbing two flights of uneven stairs to get to room was probably good preparation for getting about in Edinburgh. Room was very small with narrow single bed next to gable. Hit my head a few times before moving the bed. View of back garden was nice.
Bed was too small and sheets kept coming off bed. Bed not very comfortable.

Staff were incredibly helpful and interesting to chat with. Very good quality breakfast. Well equipped bar.
We had a room right at the very top and it was extremely hot. There was also a lot of street noise on the last night.

Ceilidh-Dornia is a charming BnB in a quiet residential neighborhood. I would gladly stay there again, in fact, I stayed there twice while in Scotland. The staff were super friendly and accommodated all our needs. We had to leave very early to catch a flight and they booked our taxi and made us a sack breakfast. Our rooms were quiet and had comfortable beds. There was plenty of coffee, tea and milk for us early risers. Breakfasts were amazing, especially the eggs benedict and eggs with smoked salmon. There was a lovely garden to relax in and they had a small bar so we could enjoy a drink in the evening without going out.
There wasn't much to dislike, other than rooms being small, and one room on the south side was pretty warm at the end of a sunny day.
