Wonderful
David greeted us and made us feel like we were at home. Saw him each day and he always asked how things were. In addition, the rest of the staff were very friendly as well. The location was perfect (5-minutes from the Royal Mile). The whole hotel was clean - kudos to the cleaning team! The breakfast was good and plentiful.
No electrical outlets in the bathroom. In fact, only 2 in the whole room, none even close to the bed, and the closest one for the coffee machine you literally had to put the machine on the floor. One-side of the bed had USB/C and nothing on the other side. Bed was small for two people and if 1 was large it is not comfortable.

Disappointing
Moving the bathroom door sounded like some was knocking on the outside door. Bad hinge, not a squeak . I asked about it at 9a Sunday, and no one responded. I asked at 5p and was told no one could do anything . I said the review would reflect this and was offered a free drink. They showed up with WD40 which did not help. Room 007.

Location was great, near downtown Edinburgh and all the attractions.
Elevator did not work, beds were horrible, room is very small for the price, had to call for more towels because they gave us enough for one person, too expensive for an old hotel.

It was located very near to Waverley station and most touristy streets like Victoria street, Royal mile etc.
Breakfast was average, not too many options for the price I paid. Room was not very comfortable, quite basic and no car parking facility by the hotel.
Bathroom (shower area) was clogged and had to wait 30-40 mins for someone to show up to fix it.

Wonderful
The counter personnel where excellent and very personable.
Parking would have been very helpful, even if it was just to load and unload luggage. A small refrigerator also would have been very beneficial. The staff helped me as much as they could.

Disappointing
The staff was amazing, they tried their best.
The elevator went down the day we got there. We were on the 4th floor. I was mobility impaired due to an injury and had to walk up 4 flights of stairs every time we needed to come down or up. And getting suitcases up and down the stairs was not fun. The lift was bit fixed in the 5 days we were there and they didn’t know when it would be fixed.
