The property is very central, clean and reasonable facilities.
Edinburgh hotels are generally very expensive as is this hotel. Unfortunately, this is the reality of visiting Edinburgh.

The room was nice and had everything we needed. A good choice of food for breakfast.
I suffer from chronic lower back pain and I found the mattress too hard. We were in a Jack and Jill bedroom and we could hear young children quite loudly in the adjoining room.

Like every Holiday Inn - "not great, not terrible". Breakfast eatable, but that's the only good thing you can say about it. Rooms are small, but tidy. Staff at reception are smiling and helpful. The location, however, is really great.

Almost good location. Under the South Gate but close to the castle area. 10min walk to Holyrood Palace. Staffs are very friendly. A small convenience store just crossing the road. Easy access for in/out of Uber.
We selected "two beds" option. But it is actually one main bed + one sofa bed. And if we have sofa bed, it covers the desk area. In conclusion, "two beds" option means "no desk space", but it is not noted in the description of room. Finally, we (I and my wife) decided to change the room with "one bed" instead of original one because I needed a desk space for some work. Be aware for "two beds" option. Wifi is almost works but with very weak signal, so sometime disconnected. (at 4th floor)
