The location was ideal with only being about 8 minutes from the train station and 5 minutes from the Royal Mile. We especially appreciated this since we were hauling our suitcases to and from the train station and Edinburgh is very hilly. We also really appreciated that they had a secure system for storing our bags after check out while we were touring the town before our train left.
They seemed to be understaffed for breakfast and ran out of clean plates and mugs, coffee and some food.

Location is perfect
Breakfast is really bad. They don’t even have hot milk, and to get hot water you have to stand in a terrible line for the coffee machine. You spend half of your breakfast just trying to get a cup of coffee.

The hotel is very central, close to the train station. The staff are very good and helpful. The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was acceptable.
The rooms are small, so you might have difficulty if you have a young child. They are more than sufficient if you are traveling as a couple or alone.
