The only slight complaint i have is when we arrived there was no cot in the bedroom as we requested when booking, not a big problem, then when one was provided we set it up and the side clip was broken, staff were amazing and replaced it for us. Even set it up but when bedtime came we placed the little one in the bed and the sides unclipped again and refused to clip back in, but it was to late to ask for another because both kiddies were asleep and we didnt wamt someone coming in and disrupting them , so we eneded up making a make shift barrier on the bed so both ended up sleeping in one of the double beds

Great location for all city attractions and sight seeing . Parking is a huge bonus. Stayed here many times would recommended . Only criticism would be, there are no USB ports in the rooms

It was easy to get the downtown by bus, the stop was just next to the hotel. The hotel is also not far from the airport.
It was nice to wake up to the birds singing from the zoo.
I had to wait about 30 minutes past the check-in time.
It wasn’t possible to borrow a bottle opener, so I had to take the bottle to the bar.
Just my opinion: the hotel probably needs a little renovation.

The location is great for families, not only close (next door) to the Edinburgh Zoo, but also on the main bus routes into town allowing for very easy travel in and out.
We were going to rugby at Murrayfield which was also very conveniently located close to the hotel.
The hotel reception/lobby/restaurant area was fine, but the rest of it felt dated - rooms and pool etc. Definitely feels like it gets a lot of traffic through these areas and could do with an update. Similar experiences at Holiday Inn Express hotels in the past, but felt this was on the lower side of the Holiday Inn's we have stayed in and not up to scratch.

Breakfast was good - although it was awkward to carry everything to the table as I was on my own, so when I left the table to get a coffee, my breakfast juice was cleared away, even though I wasn't finished.
The bathrooms are quite cramped. I wasn't told how to order a meal, so I stood at the bar for a long time to order, then was told to order at the table.
It would be handy to have a short cut from the hotel to the Spire next door. I had to climb over a wall to get there. A more official shortcut would be great for people coming from the Spire.
