The room was neat and clean, and the location was good.
The management and the facilities.
They kept us waiting for more than 30 minutes by saying 5-10 minutes at check-in as the room was not ready, even though we were checking in 1 hour after the mentioned check-in time.
First, the phone cable was broken. That was fixed upon request after check-in.
Room service was always busy on the phone, so we always needed to go to the reception for any assistance.
Water bottles were not provided, and we were told to buy water bottles from the restaurant. It costs 5.5£ per 750 ml bottle.

I complained with regards to noise after driving 6 hours to the hotel, I didn’t sleep much cause there was people outside the reception area shouting and laughing, spoke to the manager he wasn’t interested at all never again

It was close to the airport. Food in restaurant was decent pub grub but they had fancier dishes that we did not try.
It's huge and old. The hallways and room doors give it a fortified, industrial feel. The shower had high tub walls to step over and down into. We are in our 70's but managed, barely.
The waitress in the restaurant added a service charge (tip) to our bill without informing us. I called it to her attention, and she immediately said, "I can take it off." I let it stand, as I was going to leave her a tip anyway. But I didn't like the subterfuge. Many people in Scotland, Ireland, and England do not regularly tip, so I point this out. For what it was, we thought it was expensive.

The position of the hotel was excellent with regard to access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. Also the locality of frequent and excellent public transport.

Nice and friendly staff, very good location between the airport and the city, also a very large dining area with professional service. Never experienced before to be seated on breakfast with explanation and everything in this kind of class of hotel.
Also what I liked was that sounds of apes and lions from zoo, and that we saw the apes also from our window in the morning.
The coffee was terrible, please replace it with something drinkable. For many people like me the coffee in the morning defines the whole day. And yeah the SPA are is terrible, small, fit for reconstruction and with zero hygiene standards.

Our room was ready before usual check-in time which was great. The room had a great view and super comfortable beds! The bus stop is just outside and it was very easy to move around the city from there. Some food dishes are available 24 hours which was great when we arrive late and missed dinner.
Getting in and out of the shower is a bit of a feat, not super accessible if you have mobility issues. Further, you need to go up several sets of stairs to get to the reception from the street.
