The location next to the zoo is great and the room was fine once we got inside, but the check-in experience completely ruined our arrival.
Arrived after an exhausting 9-hour journey with a pre-paid booking for 3 adults in 1 room. Front desk staff aggressively refused to honor our confirmation, claimed it wasn't available, and tried to force us to pay extra for a second room. They only backed down after a long argument. Threatening and predatory customer service.

The staff was excellent and helpful. Checked us in quickly and efficiently and told us how to park the car and about breakfast. Got us checked in within 15 min, maybe less.
.The breakfast was good, would have been nice if there was a non pork meat selection, either vegetarian or other meat.
Also the bathroom floor had hair from previous guests, it felt like it needed to be vacuumed

We liked the proximity to both the school and central Edinburgh. We also very much enjoyed the connecting rooms, the pool (so warm!!), and the delicious food!! The staff were phenomenal and did a great job welcoming us and our three kids when we arrived! And they had a welcome screen on the tv in our room!
I did find a few hairs in our rooms that were definitely not ours.

Reception, bar and pool areas were modern and clean.
Hall carpets to reception from lower level seemed to have huge water stains or something? The room was clean but tiny for a double (glad it was offered though) -they are hard to find. Bathroom had lots of water damage to door, small amounts of mold on ceiling. Body wash and shampoo but no conditioner.

Staff was very helpful and location was right next to the zoo, great for hopping a bus to center city but having options in and near centre city.
More 2 double bed options would help families, but we did use the two sofa bed options.
