The staff was excellent, super helpful and professional.
The hotel was under renovations and was an absolute maze. We were unaware of this when we booked and would have booked somewhere else had we known.

They did put out bananas/ breakfast bars prior to the half marathon.
Lots of building work. Scaffolding covering windows. One of the lifts out of service. Room was tiny and very dark. Bed was a small queen and barely big enough for two adults to fit. When I requested swapping to a twin room I was quickly denied. The fact I used a ‘third party’ ie booking.com was definitely seen as a negative by the reception staff.

We had a junior suite for the night. Very nice space and very clean and smart
Property is undergoing some work. Felt the room was a fair trek to get to which I know couldn’t be helped but took a bit of the experience away

The breakfast was very good. A nice buffet with good choices and omletes from the kitchen if you would like. The room was spacious and the welcome chocoaltes were so sweet. Short walk to the train station and a 10 minute walk to so much.
The shower, only the half glass so water gets all over. The water pressure was ok. We kept asking for an additional towel and housekeeping kept taking them and not replacing them. Did not know of the construction going on in and around the hotel at time of booking

It’s close to princess street.
The room I payed for wasn’t the room I got, I payed for a queen room and I got a king room.
The fire alarm went off with no warning at 8AM (should have been told if there was a practice drill at check in).
The room next door to us had food lying outside their door when we checked in. We went for our meal and when we got back to the hotel the food was still there.
At check in the male that was checking me and my partner in looked like he hated his job.
I payed £40 for fake flowers on the bed a bottle of Prosecco and a box of chocolates.
Was not worth the money as I got a tiny box of 4 chocolates that were not nice. The Prosecco is a £15 bottle and just a heart of fake rose petals on the bed. Just wasn’t worth the money at all.

Location was great. Five minutes walk from the station and to the Royal Mile
Paper thin walls, and a newly renovated bathroom with a shower that flooded the room no matter how hard you tried to avoid it.
