We were so impressed with the standard of the Highfield Guest House - everything looked brand new & very clean. We had a very smooth check-in process & it was easy to find in a nice, quiet residential part of town. The bed was so comfortable we both had a great night's sleep. There were lots of amenities in the bathroom. It was easy to navigate to the centre of town - we either walked or took a bus.
It is a little bit far out from the centre of town but to be fair we knew that when we booked and we managed fine. (Just something to note if you like to be right in the centre of things.) The bedroom/bathroom is on the smaller side - a little bit too small for two people to get ready at the same time. Works best if one person sits on the bed and the other gets ready, then switch.

It is in a residential area, so it is quite. Super nice host, Kate. This place is immaculate.
It is not near the city center but there are buses all around. Walking takes about 30 minutes to the Royal Mile

Everything was perfect for us. Lovely room, great location with a view of Arthur's Seat, and plenty of extras in our room. The owner was so friendly and helpful and gave us an incredible amount of information on arrival, as well as being on hand throughout the stay for other needs we had. Thank you so much, we came to see Bruce Springsteen on a busy, sunny Edinburgh night, and we lucked out with this one! :)
It's a shame they no longer do breakfast as I bet it would have been delicious! But it's not a problem as we knew already and there are plenty of cafs and shops nearby.

Lovely place hosted by Kate. Very nicely kept.
Location was just slightly out of main centre but serviced by regular buses. Bathroom / toilet was for exclusive use but separate from bedroom.

What a gem of a place to stay in Edinburgh. We were aware it wasnt central but it was walkable and only a short ride in a taxi if needed. The room was decorated beautifully, very clean and the attention to detail to be commended. Excellent communication throughout the booking and our stay by Kate the proprietor who obviously understands what happy customers require. Well done Kate.

There was no place to go except your room. For a B&B there was no breakfast. it was a bit of a distance to see the sights.

Excellent room, very comfortable bed, beautiful view, bathroom was very clean and fancy. Kate was the sweetest and most helpful host. We loved staying in this guesthouse.
It takes around 30 minutes walk from the city center, but it is a pleasant walk. Also there are some buses you can use.
