Our room at Hampton by Hilton was very spacious, lovely comfortable bed. The cleanliness was excellent and we liked it being serviced every day. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and plenty of it. We would like to say that every member of staff was courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel was good for anyone who was able to walk a good distance but anyone else might prefer to take a taxi up to the centre of Edinburgh.
LACK OF GOOD AIR CONDITIONING! We found that even when it was set to the lowest temperature and the curtains shut when we returned at tea time the room was unbearably hot and we had to leave the door open onto the corridor to let cooler air in. We called maintenance who arrived promptly and found that our room was exceeding 30 plus degrees. Despite whatever he tried he was unable to resolve this situation. A fan was brought up to our room which helped significantly. In the morning the room was sufficiently cool, however returning to our room each evening the problem recurred. We have no complaints about the efforts of the maintenance staff.

Breakfast was varied. Accommodated my gluten-free need nicely.
I needed ice for a hurt knee and they helped me out.
We would have preferred to be closer to town center which was our booking error, not yours.

The rooms were clean and comfortable.
There were no slippers in the room. The bed had not been made available for children's accommodation, we had it made available. There were no closets in the rooms. No water was provided in the lobby. The breakfast was very little. There was nothing like cheese, olives, cucumbers, greens. There were products such as waffles and croissants, and there was only one type of egg. The breakfast should definitely be improved.

The hotel was very comfortable , comfy bed and air conditioning , good area for what we required and clean
Staff weren’t very engaging or very friendly , we were told we didn’t book an accessible room when we actually requested an accessible room in advance through booking.com at the time of the booking . At breakfast we came down and when a member of staff came to seat us we asked if he wanted to see our room card number he said no it’s fine just go through. We could have been anyone ! The accessible room we were given was right next to the cleaning cupboard my husband had to find the cleaner to move the big laundry baskets etc out the way so I could get my wheelchair out the room to go for breakfast and on our way back to pack our room to leave they had put the laundry and cleaning stuff in front of the room door again and my husband had to move it all to the hall to get me back in the room again .
