Just 164 feet from Edinburgh’s bustling Princes Street, Haystack Hostel is set in a renovated 18th-century Georgian building. It offers (not 24h reception) with free Wi-Fi and a fully equipped shared kitchen. With luxurious wooden triple bunks, the dorms are all equipped with individual power and USB sockets, reading lights, and bed linen. Shared bathroom facilities include large showers and separate men's and women's bathrooms. Shops, bars and restaurants surround Haystack Hostel, and Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station is less than 492 feet away. Impressive Edinburgh Castle is only 0.5 miles’ walk. The kitchen and dining area features a full range of kitchenware as well as integrated oven/hobs, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Good value for money. Clean kitchen, central location, close to airport shuttle bus station, close to old town, quiet hostel (no party hostel) if you consider the low price and central location in the loudest part of the city.... Book of you need a cheap bed for one night and central location. Bus stop to airport is 4 min footwalk away. Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast is not served, but you can purchase a £5 voucher and get a breakfast roll and coffee at a cafe around the corner which saves you around 1£
12-beds in one dorm is not comfortable at all. I was lucky that the women were mostly polite and quiet. But It is simply too much if you ask me. Each bunk had 3 beds... Don't book if you need calm and quiet surrounding. The location is not a place where you find silence.

Very central location, easy to get around Edinburgh from the Hostel. Staff were pleasant and friendly, communal facilities were clean and tidy rooms also were tidy and fresh.

The facilities were clean, the room was comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked, everything was at a comfortable temperature, and the floor was quiet. Everything I could’ve hoped for from a hostel stay.
